TO LIVE A LITTLE, TO DREAM A LITTLE

She had no idea how she ended up here. It was as if she woke up, and found herself in this position.

All she could feel was the feel of his strong arms around her waist, holding her flush against himself! She could feel the rough and strong arms slightly move as his grip tightened. She felt herself moving closer, in time to feel his lean body against hers. Even through the cloth of his fancy shirt, she could feel his warmth.

Her eyes moved, on their own accord, towards his. Her breath hitched, her gaze locking with his. She could feel his breath fanning her face. She tried to move away as his broad, rough palms, slightly cupped her face, not before tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ears. As he moved closer, she was able to enjoy his masculine scent, something that was so foreign, yet felt so familiar. Before she shut her eyes close, she whispered,

"Viraj"

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Nisha jumped out of her bed, trying to piece together the fading pieces of her dream. When it all became clear again, she scrunched up her faced in disgust, slowly getting out of bed. Reaching the bedside table, she took a long gulp of water. It was five in the morning, and she knew her sleep was lost now. She took her phone in her hand and clambered back into bed, scrolling through her new notifications.

She contemplated on calling Kabir, to blame him for her lost sleep. He was to blame, actually. If it was not for his stupid idea, she could have avoided meeting Viraj sir. The man who destroyed her sleep in the wee hours of morning.

Ever since she met him two months back, that wretched man was following her around, even in her sleep. She knew that he didn't have any idea about him stalking her in her dreams.

Nisha sighed. She was running out of reasons to blame Viraj Singh Rathore. And yeah, she was becoming weak, and her resolve was weakening. Her old soft corner always raised it's head right after she had these dreams.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

"Nishu! How about this one?" Kirti asked, pointing at a emerald green lehenga, one among the hundreds that surrounded them. Nisha, Kirti and Jwala were sitting in a textile shop, trying to select the perfect lehenga for Nisha to wear on Ramesh and Lakshmi's wedding anniversary celebrations. It was supposed to be a big function more like a party, organized by Kirti and Suku, who had decided that every birthday and anniversary in the family was to be celebrated with oomph, giving them an excuse to enjoy.

"Why bother yaar? I already have the one that I had worn on Virendra Tauji's birthday celebration, remember?", Nisha shrugged.

"Why bother? This is going to be better than the last time. And remember, we are not buying anything for us", Kirti retaliated, pointing to herself and Jwala. "But you just transformed into a person who wouldn't mind wearing all these stuff, but you have just two or three pieces. So we have to buy something new for you every time."

"Yes Nishu bro, atleast you have to fill a section of your wardrobe! Kirti di's one overflowed last month.", Jwala winked earning a smack at the back of her head.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

An hour later, the three of them leaned back in their chairs. Nisha was not able to like even one of them. Some were too fit, some were too colourful, some were too shiny, some were just not her type.

"Ma'am?" A salesman popped up at her side.

"Yes?"

"Why don't you try this?"

Nisha turned her head slightly and bit back a gasp. He was holding one of the most beautiful pieces of clothing that she had ever seen. The cloth was pure golden in colour. Covered with bronze embroidery, and bronze sequences, it was exquisite.

"Beautiful", she exhaled.

"Pack this", said Kirti, happy that Nisha finally liked something.

"But bhaiya? How did you know Nishu bro's taste?", Jwala asked. Nisha tilted her head questioning him.

"But Ma'am, I didn't select this. That Sir by the counter did.

Nisha turned around, her heart beating wildly, already recognizing the man who knew her taste.

She left Kirti and Jwala behind, and walked up to him.

"How did you...?", she asked already knowing the answer.

"Let's just say Miss.Nisha, that I know your tastes too well"

She blushed hard, the colour spreading despite her efforts to hide it.

"Miss.Nisha?", he said.

"Yes sir?", she replied, her tongue acting beyond her damn control.

"Remember to wear this blush with that dress. Both looks good on you.", he smiled.

Her cheeks felt warm, the heat spreading again. She was feeling all that she felt in her dream. Rapid heart beats, short quick breath, dry lips, and a strong pull towards his smile, and those lips that did it. Even before she completed what she said next, she knew her mind was not in her control. But she completed it anyway.

"If you are there when I wear this dress, I think the blush won't be difficult to wear!"

His eyes widened, and then smiling slightly he turned back and walked out.

Kirti and Jwala walked out too, after billing. But not before shaking her heads, and passing amused looks between them, seeing how confused and pretty Nishu looked.

Darn!' her mind screamed. What the hell was that? And why was I not able to control her?

Oh, shut up!', her heart said coyly. It seems you lost against me!
