I have understood thus far that women empowerment is a fancy word for the Indian makers. They know people will fall for it. Seriously the basic theme of the story has not moved an inch. Her life is as aimless as it always was. Only they made her a little bold which helps in attracting viewers. Except the comedy quotient I dont find anything so good about her character.

There is a section of viewers who never wanted Nimki to marry BDO or Tunne or any other person for that matter. Now that she is marries there is no hope this can even happen. The justification of Nimki marrying Babbo was that she will learn her lesson. Even that is not happening.

The problem is Nimki has not matured and her father is a mute spectator dancing to her tunes.
Anaro, in a crooked way, represents woman empowerment.

Nimki's love for Babbooji is inexplicable. He did not even smile at her any time. He did not buy her even a glass bangle or bindi. Nimki is just in love with Haveli and Babboo is the ladder for her to climb upto her destination. It is a marriage of convenience for both the parties.

Her ideal is a film star, not any national leader. So her politics is limited to fulfilling villagers's needs which is quite practical. She should do it so that the mukhia crown on her is justified.

Bdo's relationship with her reminds me of Pygmalion. He nurtures her, educates her, protects her and ultimately falls for her.

Is Anaro empowered?I doubt it. She had been riding on her Mukhiya husband's shoulders as Mukhiyayan and of course the power she thinks that her caste has given her. Nimki's presence means losing both and that's the reason she is out to get rid of Nimki.

Nimki did tell Tunne that even if Tunne had told the truth behind marriage proposal before the wedding she still would have gone ahead and married Babbo. She wants to be the queen of Haveli or rather she wants to climb up the social ladder in any which way. She believed that her beauty will help her get a rich husband like Babbo. She thinks she can turn things around if she has Babbo on her side. So she is using her great beauty to entice Babbo who I think is getting drawn to her but not enough to break his promise to his mother.

Both her father and BDO are shielding her from ugly realities of life and as long as these shields are there she will get her way.The only way is to remove these two protective shields.

Well, aparna. Anaro is fearless and even Tettar cant open his mouth in front of her.
She tells what comes to her mind. She is not a hypocrite and she is open about her feelings.

Inspite of being dependent financially but she takes care of the house in her own way.

She may have regressive views but she is fine with it. There is no conflict in her about her regressive views.

I find her much more interesting than Nimki.

And she is a fighter.

If she cared for Mukhyayan so much, she would have happily agreed for that marriage sham.

She maybe power hungry but will not compromise easily like Tettar.

Anaro is not empowered. She is as delusional as Nimki. Nimki believes she is just too beautiful to be ignored. Anaro believes she belongs to the class of rulers and that is why the whole world will listen to her.
Nimki is not aware of the political world. Anaro is equally ignorant. Both have no idea how real politics is being played.

This is not empowerment. Tettar isnt scared of her. She too belongs to an influential family and has been married to Tettar with a handsome dowry.Tettar simply ignores things to keep her calm which anyways are womanly things and just too trivial for him.Otherwise he ignored her opinion about her son and daughter. Running a household, choosing curtains. deciding menus, cursing the bahus and sasuma and screaming your lungs out is not empowerment. Frankly even Tettar doesn't w ant Nimki to live like a family. When Anaro is taking the blame he isnt interfering. .

If anyone is actually empowered then it has to be Mahua. She knows what she is. She understands what caste discrimination is. She knows how powerful are the haveliwallahs yet she has a voice. She has an opinion. She is actually running her father's house and she is doing it better than Anaro.

Well, Mahua has taken responsibility in that dysfunctional house. She will always be sidekick to her pampered sister.
Once Nimki comes out of that love nasha, things may turn out differently.

I think Bdo may take a transfer to save himself.

Tunne has recovered quite well and matured somewhat.

In the show, Nimki will always remain as the lead. So, Mahua is not getting that much screen space even if Nimki returns to her family. After the logic the makers gave to justify her perspective, I dont expect anything from them.
However, logically in a real life scenario, people like Mahua eventually make big in their life because they learn about the ground realities early. When they make it big they dont bother about relatives like Nimki who are good for nothing and just live in the family as an additional burden. Rambachan wont be there all his life to sort sibling rivalry. If Nimki doesn't have a realisation and doesn't do anything about the mess she has made in the nme of marriage there are less chance Mahua will be sympathetic towards her in future. Even now with her limited resources she doesn't spare her sister. She is the only one who corrects her every time.

Tettar Singh knows the ground realities and difficulties in retaining/acquiring political power so he is ready to move on with times ulike Anaro who doesn't know what is happening in the world around her. She may boss over the family members and impose rules on her Bahu but didn't really have guts to express her feelings in the public. She didn't have guts to drag her son away from the Holi celebrations.

@red Even I find her more interesting than Nimki.Actually I find story of Tettar Family so much more interesting than Nimki her stupid love story and the men who fell in love with her.😆

So true .. be it the TV industry or the film industry, big words like women empowerment are just the fancy words to promote their stale shows. As you said, the comedy quotient is the only factor that differentiates her from the typical crying idiot bahus of other sagas. That is probably the only reason that I started watching this show in spite of the fact that I've never gotten down to watching any other saas-bahu show .. ever. And that is the reason that I am so annoyed .. I never expected this to become the typical saga of a sacrificing wife and bad husband in a big house way .. but unfortunately that is what it is becoming now .. and that is why I am sooo disappointed.

@ Grounder,
I would really like to know how the writer( also the producer) compared Nimki to Suhana of Sasural Genda Phool. Frankly I watched the show because he said Nimki was Suhana from village and basic theme of the show is women empowerment.

Suhana was born an elite. Its okay if she didnt like or understand how middle class families run. She lived in a superficial world and she thought the world is like that only. But Nimki was born a low case to a poor father. Yet she doesn't understand either caste discrimination or poverty. What sort of logic is that?

Then came the brilliant justification. Her mother died so she is suffering from eternal dukhiyari syndrome. Thats why her father instead of taking her to a psychiatrist or psychologist is fulfilling every wish she makes. How does he do that? Yes, he makes his younger daughter do all the household chores while he goes out and earn and spend most of it on his good for nothing daughter. Then she got married as she always wanted. Married to a rich man who will fulfill all her wishes and she doesn't have to work.Again we have been offered a brilliant justification here. She needs to know the harsh reality of life by getting married to a man who doesnt love her. She is using her husband's name to climb the social ladder. Its just the same way her husband hopes to use her Mukhiya status. So, its fine. But what happened to women empowerment? I am sure the makers didn't mean' rich husbands' for poor girls when they said women empowerment. When Abhimanyu's masi didnt allow her inside her home she forcefully barged in .Now when she is made to live in a separate room post her marriage she is okay with the arrangement. Since when did ignorance become empowerment?

So, exactly when is the realisation coming or realisation is for Babboo who will actually find Deepika Padukone in her and feel blessed for having her as his wife? By the way will she ever learn Babboo wasnt saving her that day. He was going to kill her.
