Exactly!
Like a couple of stories I read on AaRa, writers posted notes that it would be their story so some dissimilarlities might be there in overall characterization.
Then again some gives an idea in the prologue itself.
And I have actually written some really good multi fandom FFs. To woh bhi thik hain.
Essence is a crucial thing. TBH, some stories are good but it doesn't have the same essence as we are shown on TV.
So it's really tricky!
Beautifully summed up.
That's fine, but you need to build characters then, which many do really well.
Definitely! Because let's be honest, once you start reading a story and actually get engrossed in it, all you care about is that particular story and how different events are shaping up the characters and overall scenario.
And as far as staying true to the original is concerned, sometimes even the original show runners include such tracks that as audience we feel a particular character has suddenly taken turn or it was totally out of his/her character. So I think unless a show/book is finished, we can't really measure how layered the characters could be or what was their basic traits.
But like you said, some just write it for the sake of it. Because development is possible in One Shot, Two Shots also. There is really no excuse for pathetic writing TBH.
But I was surprised seeing a couple of people actually praised it. 😲 I mean it's like, you insert a popular couple and add a few cliched lines and ILU - it's a hit. 😒
It has been quite some time since I read some good FF on Wattpad. 😔
Let's change the topic though. Kaafi raita faela chuke hain aur humare gala phadne se aise log to badlenge nahi. So why waste our energy? 🙄

You summed it brilliantly
Bold part, cracked me🤣🤣 but bang on!
True! Raita reminds me of Anika. So am just going to share a random fun Shivika scene,
So Anika basically sees this tv show, you know where they emphasize on doing a crash diet, to get instant weight loss and results. Just detox or lemon water or something, don't remember fully. She shares with Shivaay, how awesome discovery she did and he is dead against it, cos it's a fad diet and you are not used to it. But Anika being Anika had to do it, so she does it for a while. Then on dining table, all are having their food and Gauri has made Aloo Puri for her, which is fav dish but she rejects it, continues her crash thing. Then since she gets weakness later, she faints. Everyone is happy thinking she is pregnant, and Shivaay is like .... So Anika tells Bhavya and Gauri, and Shivaay tells Omkara and Rudra, what they are thinking isn't true and it has happened thanks to her fad diet🤣🤣
🤣 🤣 🤣
Poor guy!
Yes, and then there was one scene where they had a face off with another Asur who was also speaking total Shuddh Hindi. So, this guy was teasing the Shuddh Hindi speaking one with:
Arre ye to bilkul tumhari tarah hi baate kar raha hai... Kintu, parantu... Kahin tumhara judwa bhai to nahi?
But it's actually difficult, no? Understanding the pure form of any language.
Yes... It is actually difficult at times. In fact, I still remember all my classmates had this problem with my Hindi...cos answers likhte samay, I used to use too much of shuddh Hindi that they used to get irritated.
In a sense it was funny because Ruhi was settled in USA but she used to utter Shudh Hindi sometimes and Roy actually joked about it that she reminded him of his Hindi teacher. 🤪
That's indeed damn funny... 🤣

I remember one.
In the beginning of IPN when Appu got to know about Iccha's identity and they became friends, obviously they had a conversation like why did she come and what did she want.
So she had a dialogue like -
Logon ko to humare chal-chalan se bhi problem hai. Chal ka to Chalo maan liya, hum ede-tede chalte hain. Par chalan? Usme Kya burai hain?
Sometimes I actually wonder if I judge Sometwoes like this, based on nothing! 🤔
Waise, there was one funny scene in the CID episode that I was watching today...
Anyways, this dialogue is actually pretty much correct...
Also, at times I also wonder if I judge sometwoes like this...
PS. Sometwoes is a good name, no? 😆
The scene seems really funny! 😆 😆 😆
This is another thing - girl faints and everybody assumes her to be pregnant. 🤦
Just before the leap, they actually showed it in Nazar also. That Piya was talking to Guruma and suddenly she felt weak and lost balance and that's when Guruma did her master diagnosis - she's pregnant. 🤰
Even in such a serious episode I was laughing like a mad person when that played out. 🤣
BTW, I remember watching a scene of IB that probably it was the same ritual where a new bride has to cook something and probably Anika's dish was horrible, so Shivaay ate the full curry to save other family members. And then when his grandma asked his reply was epic - Khatarnak!!! 🤣

I wish I could watch this particular scene!
