Sure!
On a side note one thing I definitely appreciate Gul's team, for. Ofc the BTS and nuances they show and how whole team is involved. Another thing is, they give due credits to the singers for title songs of shows. Names and even a few with singers actually singing them. It's really great.
It's definitely praiseworthy. As I said, once you see the BTS videos you realize how many people work to make the perfect shot. Like there's this new fanfage of Niyati I came across. She posted the BTS of the library scene. It was so simple on the screen but the amount of people involved makes you appreciate the effort put by everyone.
And definitely, nuance is something that Gul is probably obsessed with. I saw her posting a pic of QH and how many shots they took. She described the entire incident. So makes you understand her passion about the work.
And giving credit - it's definitely amazing!
Unfortunately I have mostly read comments about how arrogant she is and how she doesn't value fans. Do you have any idea about it?
I remember certain NK fans were roasting her apparently for insulting Zain. I think IB was on air at that time.
:)
Definitely. Yes, she has a lot of passion and detailing, also depth she goes to in writing a few plots.
Interesting, and there's a whole lot of effort, direction, then the editing and everything in software, it's massive!! Even actors, have said, when script is so much in detail, becomes fab for them too.
Even NM and SC had appreciated her team, along with BS and SJ. This was one major reason, I got pissed when fans blamed bad acting scene by Aditi to Atif and team, that they were responsible.
When it was a clear bad acting scene, and simple one. Directors will think about their team too, cos it's not they shoot and give to the channel, there's a whole lot of editing involved, which they have to approve. So unless actors ask for retakes, and till they feel it needs, they won't do.
Yes, she is!! Even I read that, and fab work. I had seen 1st shivika scene, way they were discussing, logically which hand should go, etc. 1st Gul did, then SC did, then they changed, finalized, ofc director too was there.
Well, yes. I do have. Yes, at instances definitely she was arrogant and rude! No doubt, and specially writer. But then fans, also did go over board in asking for plots, and always PH can't change story. As a fan however horrible I may find a track, director will go their way, cos ultimately they know trp game. Yes, screen presence and all had messed, but she did make DBO too, had to shut cos it didn't do well. Yes, Zain she had insulted, it was her fault, but then again which producer won't if you say, show will end soon, etc. Cos ultimately they put their heart and soul, so won't they defend it? Agree show was mess or whatever, so she did tell him, something like first he should find a job, cos NK had ended then. All fans supported him, and he had made a big thing, but joke was after a few months, he worked in IB. Television industry is small, and honestly, you should not say such sensitive things too.
Also again fans go ultra over board, whatever be the case fans were responsible for quitting ipk3, which was sick, just cos Sanaya wasn't there. I did see the show, and putting few things aside they had a plot. It was supposed to be finite, they wanted to name it differently too, but channel asked them to use ipk3 tag, and that's okay, but way fans did, was horrible!!
Also I believe, they can try being not rude, but both fans and them should have some limit!
Well, even the best actors sometime fail to deliver their best but there is a certain portion of fans who just can't get over their blindness. So what can we do? 🤔
Well, personally I felt Zain didn't say anything insulting. I remember now as you have said, he may be said something like IB might go off air. As far as I can remember at that particular time there was rumor of several shows going off air. Gul's tweet - it was arrogant but then again even she is a human and was pissed off.
I won't try to sugarcoat it. I actually felt sadistic pleasure and I really mean the word sadistic here when Zain joined IB later and more importantly when EBSS went off air.
NK fans were actually super hyperactive. Like the ones they liked they were award winning and the ones they didn't like they sucked big time. I might agree if only it was true. I mean yes, I saw a few scenes of Aditi (Rathod) but she wasn't really that great. Specially you start a show by watching seasoned actors like Barkha, Viraf and Sayantani, it's less likely that you would go gaga over Zain and Aditi.
But then as I said, kaafi gul khilaye the uss forum mein so..........
What boiled my blood was that according to them Gautam Vig was a better actor than Sana; even Zahan who hardly had any SS in the later episodes.
So what can we really say about these fans?
I tried to be really open minded regarding EBSS because the promos were funny but I really liked Shrenu there. But even there, the low TRP was blamed on Tanvi who was rather better than Zain. I actually felt Zain to be a pretty face with a lot of swag or his roles were such in both NK and EBSS.
About IPKKND 3, I actually feel the greatest mistake was to put the tag there and include one of the actors while literally fans are still very much in love with that show.
Like we keep saying, NAZAR would always be remembered as MoNiyArsh's show, when they started EBP, both the actors were different and it ran for a considerable amount of time. But using the tag and including Barun, then again shushing fans - I think everything collectively led to the catastrophe.
Because it's a fact; SRK has amazing chemistry with a lot of heroines and has given so many hit movies. But you name Dilwale and try to pair him up with anyone other than Kajol - that will definitely tank. 🤔
But yes, ultimately both the fans and makers need to draw a line. It's easy for us to shout here at home but they are the ones making it. But then again, if you can't produce our type of show, for whom are you making it? So. it's bidirectional. 😊

This was indeed a great interview. 👏 👏 👏
There were so many things that we could actually discuss about for hours. The thing I loved the most was that Gul was mostly asking personal questions and that too not that shamelessly personal that often celebrities are bombered with. I loved it when Ekta talked about vulnerability and the way she has improved her throughout the years.
The thing she said about love stories, I really wanted to hug her. Because it's actually true. A lot of cult American shows are obsessed with this prude girl falling for the bad boy and reforming him. So it's actually a deeply rooted concept that they can't really break within one day.
Gul definitely seemed to be too much into poetic definition of love and separation but the justification given by Ekta was correct.
But there have been certain shows where I have seen progression in love also. So I hope someday, Indian audiences give makers the chance to portray that type of shows.
Ekta's frustration that YHM worked but the cheating one (I couldn't get what was it. Was it Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do?) not working - unfortunately the true face of our culture because still women are expected to do that.
Loved the point where she said you can't put a box around someone's personality because she likes American shows but hates music. Can totally relate to that. 😆
While I do believe in marriage and companionship, I also believe this idea too has been stereotyped and I felt like she was voicing my own opinion. If I find love - it's okay! If I don't, please don't badger me with marriage and kids are gonna solve everything miraculously.
Thanks for sharing the IV dear!

I tried to be really open minded regarding EBSS because the promos were funny but I really liked Shrenu there. But even there, the low TRP was bamed on Tanvi who was rather better than Zain. I actually felt Zain to be a pretty face with a lot of swag or his roles were such in both NK and EBSS.

True!!!
Okay, and true.
You did? Can totally understand though. Agree on trio, of seasoned actors, you have them and had Reema, and then them. ZA were good, but not as fab way people potrayed them, and NK fans bashed everyone for no reason. Other actors, other show actors were also dragged a few times.
Sana was just hated randomly and it was sick.
Gautam and others, don't even know, but I trust you.
Can be there. Ofc it's like when show does fab, it's cos of leads, but when bad it's cos of others.
Yes, it would be!! But it was channel's decision, and the 3rd season came after a huge break! IB and nazar, is different case cos they had no gap. Plus, it's not always possible that forever he has to do projects with her, right? Fans need to understand, and having been a forum member and all, fans messed up big time, even Sanaya had played lot of politics...and acted innocent. Though I appreciate her projects and all, she had played and done blame game like how can't I be taken..
Honestly, any actor's chemistry with one single person will stand out, but character is important too, and if Gul didn't see Chandani in Sanaya, why should she cast her?
So I won't agree in this case, what you said, fans need to grow up...they need t draw a line. Yes, there will be a certain audience for all shows...people just bashed and roasted every tiny thing, for the sake!
No one would actually cast them together seeing crazy fandom.
I am not saying AdiZa were horrible. They were considerably good and even if it wasn't really that unique of a role, Neil was a good ML. 👍🏼 So go ahead, praise them, even I would. Besides, I watched the scene where Neela died. There I actually cried seeing Aditi's acting and probably the entire situation too had a lot to do with. It still breaks my heart even when I think about that particular sequence.
But my issue was with everyone praising them to be so good and the others to be so bad. NK definitely isn't Sana's best work. She was okay in that! But the way everyone was going it felt like each one of them was oscar winner.
I shouldn't have taken Zahan's name because I have seen very little of him but Gautam most certainly wasn't a better actor than Sana. He was the physiotherapist guy in D4. So you would understand.
Plus point, it definitely taught Sana a lesson. I searched after quite some days and she was probably on a live chat where a fan was asking her about Shravan. She did apologized that she was taking much time before answering because she didn't want to say anything that could be turned into something ugly and blown out of proportion. Batao? 🤔
Agree on everything but you know, branding. Wouldn't really know about Sanaya playing politics so I'll just stop here.
Exactly! Honestly, sometimes I feel it's the fans' craziness that makers don't risk repeating popular jodis. 🤔

Firstly, am quite happy you loved it. You know, there are very rare interviews I like. Even with these actors, I see a few and as I told once, insta live I find boring. One of my friends did share of an upcoming, but you know, 70% is same, and repetitive.
But this was something damn interesting and informative, also gives perspectives. Yes, we can discuss so much. Ekta was actually superb.
Her line, we have to present heartbreak as art on tv. Yes, Gul asked interesting questions, without going too personal, and Ekta too drew the line and Gul didn't barge beyond it.
Indeed!! Actually both were great.
Agree on both and yes, there have been progression. But as they said, they can't totally change on tv cos all generations watch and they have to show certain typical things, though they changed a few.
Ekta was talking about her web shows, where she could show stuff.
Don't remember the ref, but yes that's true.
That was best, and superb!! Where she was clear, and even where she mentioned about her belief in Gods, and certain other things, timings, etc.
Totally Hi5!! She was bang on with that!! Like there is life beyond marriage, and you have your dreams for Gods sake. Gul should also make more web, and explore.
Btw, in IB they covered few topics very well, there was this one thing where they had showed Shivaay explaining age graph to family, how you are stereotyped! Like our society actually does it..

Agree! Neil actually was a good and healthy ML on what I heard and saw bits. They were good, but not as great. Well, typical fans behaviour, man!!
For this I appreciated IB, cos people appreciated everyone's acting at least, brothers, all pairs, senior cast, villains, even cameos. Ofc when I was around and had seen..
Okay.
Tfs the reference, got it. He was good, but ofc Sana is better yaar. Didn't I tell you, how ppl are judgemental, and have looks thing too, even if their favs look bad, they will be termed great..
I didn't actually understand the live chat thing, as in?? Whatever she said, was judged?
Yes, thanks! True!!
Exactly, people do mess, by over craziness. Ekta could repeat couples, like Ram and Saakshi...cos balh was loved but not such an extreme unhealthy and crazy fandom..
Cos stories would be different, but ppl just compare to one thing..
Agreed!
I am glad that they brought out the age topic. Because even older characters are stereotyped in ITV. Either you are strict or comical.
Like here in 2018 (i might be wrong about year) we are making Badhai Ho! But in a lot of American shows, I saw they don't shy away from showing elder people getting intimate. It's physical need at the end of the day. And it's not just TV but in reality also. People make so much fun of elder couple when they don't want to leave each other even for a few days!
Arre! Newly wed ho to pyaar hain, patni ko jaane nahi de sakte. To jo log saalo se ek sath hain, unke beech pyaar nahi hain kya? Yeh kahe ki nainsafi?
