Honestly, had decided to have a glimpse of show for 2 days and let go. But then am gonna stay for few things VFX, Vikram, cinematography and it gives me a push to PS and see romance.

About discussions, well I highly doubt if I can even have any. This was what I had mentioned to Alisha and here before show started, that hoping forum is open to discuss and not just bashing Posts. But forum totally has become that, every 2 days a different person makes a same thread.. like you can put in a single thread, and write same content and bash. Toh discussion ka mauka nahi hai! But you know my views post first episode, cos that we discussed in Alisha's thread.

Yeah, I noticed that. Some are too excited and going gaga over the FANTASY element and some have expressed their displeasure regarding direct copy pasting. Anyway, everyone has their own opinion. Let's see what their opening TRP is. But at least come to this forum and discuss about Nazar. 😊

Yeah it's reverse now. Films of 80s 90s were bad while TV was good and now Films are good - atleast good ones can exist, now tv is bad.

Finally got time to answer. i "ll combine the answer to both posts.

Pre 2000 tv was really good. It's a pity not all of them are on DVDs. We lost a good chunk of programming. I personally would have loved to see Sea hawks. Sadly there isn't an audience for that kind of programming any more. For films there is that's why we get innovation in content.

Regards Ekta's Mahabharat. I give her props for being fearless in modernising it. She also learned to accept the failure & the brickbats That's inspiring.

It's only the Mahabharat was in bad taste with too much of saaas bahuish same like Chandrakanta.

So that's that.

About religions, tv shows seem to mess, people who have half knowledge believe and start criticism..and are concerned just to justify leads sometimes. Tv shows touch sensitive topics and mess them, so people from that religion obviously will be offended.

Hey Madhura Thanks am fine

Finally got time to reply to this . Inactivity in forum i answered in other post. I can definitely say irritation with Dev track was one of them & now Aman tawaif (I throw money at you) mindset. God why does misogyny comes in twos 🤷‍♀️ Anyway to your question

What difference does it make Whether Tv shows mishandle religion or audiences react to it. It leads to one & the same thing - atmosphere of intolerance.

You're arguing about people's right to get offended I'm arguing that there is no safe place left to discuss religion.

I've seen it on many social networking sites. Some people use it as an excuse to troll people others genuinely get offended even if you say things innocently. It's like a minefield you don't know what you're supposed to say or how to react. Unless there is a how to self help book in this situation.

I've also witnessed violence in my area because of it.

My observations are colored by my experiences. If you think there are still safe places to discuss let me know.

I normally don't broach this topic i felt comfortable enough with Nushy & M that's why i shared my views. I must say i'm pleasantly surprised to see a lot of members here too.

In case u answer this i"ll revert back after i'm back

Yes of course in such a case you have the right to feel offended

I know you didn't imply that. 🙂

😊

I'm merely pointing out that Deepika's example is not the right one if you're talking about flaws in interpretation of religion. Whether you agree with her views or not. You noticed i only said i didn't agree with her views nothing else. She got so offended she attacked my religion as well. Was that tolerance ?

Definitely not. It's quite natural from anyone from a different religion to ask different question. Like I used to bug my friends so much. But it would be appreciated if people took it positively and clarified those topics.

👍🏼 In my case it's the opposite more on that later

Secondly the kind of rational discussions on religion you're proposing was possible in the 90's it is not now. That's what i meant by 90's tv shows & their audiences. We've all seen it that whether it is on India forums or other networking sites. Whenever religion is discussed someone either uses sensitivity as an excuse to stir up divisions or there's always room to misinterpret things. People invariably have to watch out for their words. In that kind of atmosphere is a discussion possible ? No i don't think so. I'm not arguing that you or M or anyone else don't have the right to get offended if u find something wrong. I do too. I'm arguing the point that the concept Religious sensitivity is now become synonymous to religious intolerance these days. You both brought up the topic. I'm adding my views to it.

Sad but true. Yes, unfortunately religious issues have become ticking time bombs. Personally had an encounter with an Idiot who despite explanation chose to be an ass. So all I can do is to ignore them. Why should I refrain from a healthy discussion with another friend just because someone might poke his/her nose. You are most welcome to join us.

🤔 Maybe i ought to take leaf from you. I know how to deal with trolls not with those kinds of people.

Seeing you two so boldly discussing religion tho makes me a bit apprehensive. These kinds of conversations normally brings some backlash. Well if you guys are confident of handling it more power to you..

I know you have had bad experience and so do I. But I am positive about the current forum members and hopefully we have the decency to agree to disagree. So don't worry. 🙂

I"ll answer this in short Ya lets give it a shot here.

I'm positive about the members here too.

About tolerance, I definitely feel our previous generation was more tollerant and had better taste.

I had read an analytical article stating in 80-90's decade, only upper middle class and wealthy people could effort their own TV set but with economical solvency, people from remote area started watching TV & unfortunately just then Ekta came up with her idea which became a trend.

I mostly agree with this.

Because in Bangladesh too, that era was the golden period in terms of TV shows and movies. You know, often I come across shows that aired even before my birth but the acting, story, direction, screenplay everything was top notch. My mother used to stay in a hostel and she would watch shows with her friends in their matron's house and once she returned to home, would narrate those stories. Now if village people were so backdated, why would they want to listen to the stories liked by educated people like my mom?

I believe back in those days, even if there were less educated people, at least in some aspects they were open minded too.

But now we so called educated people perceive ourselves to be superior and are losing the decency to accept something that might not be my preference. Rather we are more interested in trolling others for minute details.

You explained it beautifully. In my days we started out with only 2 channel dd metro & Dd national. Then to zee tv star plus. Those days were superb.

I personally would like to see Sea Hawks. It's not available anywhere 😭

Can understand then. Honestly even I was pissed with tawaif track but then show had mentioned it in first promo. Aman's character changed overnight, he throwing money part...and how horribly track was handled, Salma not telling Roshni of his calls and everything.

Edit : Well I have to agree with what you mentioned about religion and everything, only place we can discuss with is some close people maybe.
