That is what makes this show appealing and interesting. The writers aren't emphasizing on only kids being wrong or at fault. Even the parents have a hand in it. The concern and the cautiousness that Sweety has is seen in many parents. We can also not overlook the fact that because she was always behind Rocky, he scored 85% last time. All she wants is more from him -- especially in the most important year that is touted by most of the parents. Her intentions are always good and for his betterment which we got to see in the scene where he's sleeping and she speaks her heart out. But like you said, she wants him to excel and meanwhile, she tends to overdo herself.

Pinky and Jeet have left their kids too loose. I mean, if I'd tell my dad directly on face that I don't want to to learn from you, my dad would have given me a piece of his mind, especially when I have scored less marks I don't get a choice of whether to learn from him or not.😕 Here, Jeet was so patient with her that he had to bear her rudeness.

Ultimately, both the mothers want the best for their kids; the only difference is with their approach.

Pinky is to lenient she lets her kids do watever they want, she left them to freely which is wrong

but i will also say the show is very realistic...there are many parents like both sweety and pinky every character is real and i agree they show that both parents and kids are wrong at times.. i really hope this show reaches NO.1

i think the reason the show is not doing so well is because it is so realistic...nobody wants to see their mistakes...there are so many parents that are either like sweety, pinky, jeet or lucky ji...usually when there is a selfish character on shows people dont like them because they can relate to it and they wanna like somebody who is so unrealistic...this is the best show ever...

agreed...love the show and the little comedy in it...it is appropriate for every age group...there is no lovey dovey stuff that would make you feel uncomfortable with family...everything is in limits...and very realistic situations...just like jeet once my dad had a health scare and thought he had heart problems and my parents went through same thing as jeet did like worrying about future and stuff...these things happen so much in real life and teaches you alot...more people should start watching it and the actors are also amazing

This is the 1st indian serial I have come across which is so real and that one can actually see oneself in the characters or situations shown as either a child or as a parent.

Both the sisters method of parenting is not right, Sweety is unapproachable because for her strictness and her constant pressuring the kids with studies and high scores will just suffocate the kids! Rocky aspires to be a football player while Ginny is interested in singing. Right method of parenting would to encourage her kids in their respective fields of interest while making sure they score above average. Parents NEED to realize this that just being a rank holder or getting straight A's does secure a bright future. A child NEEDS to be SMART and knowledgeable to be successful!

Pinky on the other hand is just ruining her kids behavior with undue papering and tolerating their rude tantrums! I get the point that Raavi is lazy but with proper discipline she will be alright. She needs to encourage her kids to take up their studies, get involved in her homework and assignment. Raashi is another spotlit brat! The girl needs to have control on her language and they way she behaves.The only reason Raashi good in studies is she is smart & a quick leaner otherwise Pinky has made no efforts in making her study.Spare the rod and spoil the child is applicable in Pinky's situation!

There can never be any hard & fast rules when it comes to parenting as every child is different, the same techniques can not be used on all!

one thing that surprised me was when jeet was mad at raashi for lying and hiding things and didnt want to talk to her, she faked having a fever...jeet felt bad and forgave her and pinky found out about the onions...but she didnt tell her anything...like your daughter just lied again to get her dad to forgive her for lying in the first place...basically all of jeet's anger and trying to teach her not to lie went to waste and pinky was a huge part of it...

Nice topic to discuss and glad to see so many discussions here!!

Sweety and Pinky have totally different personalities and expectations. None of them are perfect when it comes to parenting as one is too strict and too demanding while the other one takes everything easily that comes from her kids 😆😆 Sweety needs to take a chill pill and be happy with 85 or some percentage because it's not bad at all. She should have been happy for Rocky but continued to encourage him to do well. However, she chose to throw her dissatisfaction at Rocky's face right away which seems very discouraging. Kids need courage and appreciation too. Pinky, on the other hand, too lenient and easy going mother which is not correct either. She has to maintain certain things to make her kids study harder and earn good grades. Raavi got 52 % which means she failed the exam yet she said nothing 😲 C'mon she has to make her kids realize at least about their poor grades instead of buttering all the time. 😛 I love Pinky as she is just an amazing mother but sometime a mother got to be little strict like Sweety jee too, so her kids can adapt the right path for their career. I would like to adopt some Pinky and some Sweety's personalities when I become a mother 😛😆

We are seeing both extreme sides of parenting

Sweety is strict (and I still stand firm a bit nuts) and pressures her kids to get higher marks. I think its because her husband is a 12th grade fail and she doesnt want her kids to think thats 'ok', cause these days things are not the same as they were 15 years ago...you have Masters/PHD candidates applying for jobs that require Bachelors degree
However her approach is pretty extreme but its not 'unreal' as I grew up with friends whose parents were just as crazy about marks and doing well.

Pinky is a bit less confident that Sweety and softer. She lets her kids (ie Raashi) get away with a few things here n there and doesnt really scold them. She is adopting Jeets friends approach


Jeet puts his full trust in his children. He wants to be their friend, confidant etc...however, if he his crossed, or his trust is broken, there are consequences. He will stop talking to the child, like a friend gets mad with their friend and the both dont talk for a bit but is there like a parent when his child is sick or in need of him.

Lucky - his approach is actually a bit more 'real';-leave it up to the wife..lol😆. He worries and wants his children to succeed but is not that physically expressive about it. He tries to encourage his children, but he ultimately knows his wife is the one who can handle the kids, while he is the bread winner of the family and takes his role as provider seriously.

So we have a mishmash of some extreme parenting...but at the end of the day...parents were once kids, and not 'born' into parenting...they will make mistakes, and the job of a parent is ever changing and inhabits continuous learning
