'You' both of them said together. Parents looked at them surprisingly

'You both have met each other before?' Ram asked them. 'But where? In Bangalore?'

Ram is Manoj's good friend from their college days. They studied together in Hindu college in Delhi and later Ram had to move to Mumbai for his job where he got married to Kavita and then Anant was born. After Navya was born, Ram with his family had come to meet them. That time, Anant was only 5 years old. They shifted back to Delhi only after Ram got retired but Anant was studying BE in Bangalore and had got a job there in a software company and since then he is there.

'No papa, actually we came in same flight yesterday and our bags had got exchanged' replied Anant. He greeted Manoj and Leela and sat near Ram.

Parents are feeling very happy that coincidently they met each other and smiled looking at each other.

'Navya! You guys would want to talk to each other alone for some-time. You may take him to your room' added Manoj

Navya nodded and got up.

'Anant!' Ram signaled him to follow her and he does the same.

As soon as they entered the room, Anant had a glance on her room which is small one but yet too cute with a queen size bed covered with white bedcover having pink flower print. Pink was the favorite colour of the room accompanying with white, covering the pillows on the bed, curtains, lamp shade on the side table, the Italian design two piece sofa etc. Since, the flat is in ground floor, the glass door balcony which is straight from the entrance, crossing the bed, leads to a common garden of the society. The balcony door was open and birds are humming and a cool breeze was flowing in the room from the garden.

Anant sits on one of the chairs and Navya on the other one kept beside.

Both are looking down and not saying anything. Navya is looking down rubbing her palm with other hand and Anant is trying to spend this awkward moment by looking at the room and outside. Navya's aunt comes and kept juice and snacks on the centre table and asked Anant to have on which he gives a smiled and nodded and she left.

Anant picks up the juice glass and was about to have and then something diverts his mind and the glass falls on him wetting his jeans and shirt.

Navya looks at him and said 'Oh sit' and gets up.

'It's ok' assured Anant. 'Where is the washroom?'

'There' replied Navya pointing towards the corner of the room. Anant goes and enters and when he opens the tap of the basin, water isn't coming out. He bends and checks if the knob of the tap is closed and suddenly sees something and he looked closely and finds one ashtray is kept hidden behind the basin with used ciggarates. He wonders who has kept it as there is only one male in the house and he has heard from his father that Manoj doesn't smoke and drink. He ignores and opens the socket and starts cleaning his shirt and jeans by putting water on it.

He gets out of the bathroom and goes back to his seat. Navya looks at his shirt and looks down again.

Unable to hold the silence anymore, Anant was about to say something and then Navya said

'I want to tell you something. My parents are pressurizing me for all this. I tried a lot to make them understand but...'

Anant is not able to understand what she is talking about. He asked 'Sorry, I am not getting you'

Navya continued 'Ok, let me come straight to the point. I like someone else. Papa is not agreeing on our relationship and wants me to get married to you and is saying if I don't get married to you, he won't let me go back to Bangalore'

Anant is shocked to hear this looks at her. So openly and easily she said this. His eyes gets fixed to her in astonishment and Navya also looks at him and there was a silence for some-time. Navya is feeling scared now what will happen. A smile curved on Anant's lips

They go back to the hall.

'So, did you both like each other' asked Ram looking at Anant first and then Navya.

Anant looked at him and Navya looking at Manoj, nodded and said 'Yes'
