LOVE HAPPENS <3 CHAPTER 5: THE ANGRY YOUNG MAN
Anant was annoyed to bits as it was near about an hour since he asked Navya to come down but she was nowhere to be seen. Anant was waiting for her and did not have the breakfast even though he was hungry just because Navya had told him the night before that she was not used to have her food alone. But now as he got angry with Navya's lack of punctuality. He pushed his breakfast plate aside and got up to go back to the room and call her down. He was about to push his chair back and walk towards the elevator when he saw someone. He was stunned for a few moments but then as his vision became clearer he realized what he saw was real.
A girl approached him who was wearing a white Kurti and a Black Jeans. She had her hair open and was a bit occupied with them as the cool morning breeze frequently brought them on her face and she had to remove it. She had this innocence on her face which would remind one of a baby.As she came closer to Anant's table her beauty became more and more prominent to him.
The girl was Navya.
"Anant woh main.. mujhe aane me der ho gayi.. I am sorry.. woh mujhse suitcase nahi khul raha tha. Maine bohot koshish ki.To iss liye tayyar hone me der ho gayi." said Navya in a tense voice. She had seen Anant's anger in the airport and was scared that he might just be angry again.
Anant just heard her speak as she continued, "woh.. woh.. main janti hun ke hume nikalna hai.. par main kya karti.. Apka phone bhi nahi lag raha tha.. to maine socha.. socha.. ki.." Navya was fumbling again.
Anant realized that she was nervous again and wanted to calm her down,"Its okay. Navya.. relax.."Koi baat nahi..Ab tum aa gayi na.. to breakfast karlete hain.. waise bhi cab bhi bas aatihi hogi.."
Navya was relieved to see that Anant was not angry. She smiled at him and the smile made her look all the more beautiful.. Anant smiled back at her without even realizing that he did so. The smile was instinctive.
As Navya sat down to have her breakfast she found Anant was still standing and looking at her. "Anant aap khare kyun hain??"
Anant was back to his senses by the question.. He had forgotten all about how angry he was just a few minutes back and even the reason why he stood up.
"woh aisehi.." said Anant taking his seat.
Its now that it dawned on Navya that Anant was staring at her all this while and figured out the reason, "Anant woh..woh actually suitcase nahi khula na to mujhe yeh pehenna pada matlab woh meri sari saariyan suitcase me hi thi aur sirf yahi bahar tha.. yeh gharse aate waqt Nimishane packet me diya..to maine yahi.. so..sorry.."
"Sorry?? kis liye?? Navya!! Ab main tumhe puchke kapde pehenta hun kya?? nahi na.. phir tum kyun puchogi.. tumhe jo man kare tum wohi pehno.. " smiled Anant.
Navya smiled back..
Soon they were informed that their cab was ready and after finishing their breakfast together they headed towards the cab.
They were not only provided with a cab by the hotel but also with a guide. He was supposed to show them around the Historic Centre.
Throughout their journey the guide spoke to them telling them the significance of any and every small and big thing that they passed by, on their way to the Historic Centre.
Navya was quiet throughout the journey but smiled occasionally whenever Anant cracked a joke at the expense of the Guide who had a terrible English accent.
Finally they reached their destination. The guide informed them that they were about to visit the A-Ma Temple of Macau which was one of the most visited tourist spots of the city.
Navya saw the huge temple which was prominently maroon-ish red in colour. At the entry to the temple was a huge boulder with a coloured relief of a traditional sailing vessel of the south china sea which was called a "Lorcha" in the native language according to the Guide.
Navya touched the first step of the Temple entrance and then touched her head with her right hand. She repeated the action twice before going up the stairs. Anant was behind Navya and noticed this action.
As they were shown around the temple by the guide they were told that the temple was the oldest among all in Macau and that it is the abode of Goddess A-Ma and Macau's namesake.
Navya was listening to all this very keenly. She looked around the temple and asked the Guide a few questions about the architecture but Anant seemed less interested in History or architecture instead he was busy looking around the place all by himself as if exploring it in his own way.
Navya had gone a bit ahead of Anant following the Guide only to realize that a couple of men were staring at her. She felt uncomfortable but nonetheless ignored them and looked away but soon they came closer to the place where Navya and the Guide were standing. Navya became tense. They were now too near. The Guide noticed that and he spoke a bit rudely to them in Portuguese. Navya looked around to see where Anant was but couldn't find him. She was so scared that she couldn't speak.
She couldn't even understand what the Guide was telling those men. She wanted to escape and run away but couldn't as the men surrounded her. The Guide raised his voice and so did one of the men. One of them said something to the guide and then looked at Navya and approached her. Navya was in tears. She did not know what to do, she felt helpless. She did not know where her husband was. The Guide apparently had given up his effort to stop the jerks.. All she could think of doing was shouting..
"Anant.." shouted Navya as tears rolled down her eyes in fear. "Dont come near me!!" shouted Navya backing off from the guy.
The guy did not listen and Navya thought that there was no escape now and closed her eyes in fear.. But nothing happened. She slowly opened her eyes which were wet with tears to find that Anant was standing in front of her.. Holding the guy's hand. He pushed him away and so hard was the push that the guy hit the ground. He turned around to see Navya. He saw she was in tears.. scared to death.. "Tum thik ho Navya.." asked Anant.
Navya was crying. She sat down on the floor.. She had never faced something like this before. She had always had a protected life. Her father had never let any such thing happen to her and here she was in an unknown country with a unknown husband facing the worst. She could barely speak.
Anant bend down to Navya urgently,"Navya kya kiya inhone.. Navya.." Anant shook his wife by her arms..But his wife didnt speak and Anant dint wait long he got up went up to the man who still lay on the floor.. held him by his haggered shirt collar pulled him up and hit him hard on the face..
So hard was the blow that the man started bleeding..
Anant had lost it. He was in no mood to stop..
