Let me confess something here...

i always voted for abinam but after sanaya videos i felt like voting for divyanka... so i voted 25 votes for abinam and one vote for divyanka, thinking one vote mein kya change hoga...

on the results day i had a chat with my friend (hope she donot mind i am revealing it here),

she said people think sanaya is popular than divyanka but in reality divyanka is more popular due to her character in YHM and all her colleagues are her fans and voting for her day and night ... seeing the way they are voting for DT she is confident that divyanka is going to win (my friend also want abinam but lol her colleagues want DT)

after my discussion with my friend i felt so guilty for wasting that one vote 😭

so i think sanaya and her fans negative publicity for divyanka again her votes along with her original fans...

if you asking i honestly feel divyanka deserve to win on basis of votes and underserved to win on bases of dance...

I won't deny she is popular. YHM is a bakwas show for sure, but it is still running and people still watch it. The show has been hugely popular and the way they cashed on their YHM popularity during NB8 definitely affected the sentiments of those who watch the show.
People don't mind voting, especially if it is free. We usually forget that in reality shows there is a huge offline base who actually vote. Online we get tricked into believing that just because we have 20 people supporting a contestant and putting in lots of votes that it is a measure of their popularity/ chances of winning the show.
Her show reaches a huge rural base who have phones and vote a lot, they aren't as digitized as we are. They don't know what's happening online, they just vote. Divyanka is from Bhopal, and her family even put up election like posters, campaigned throughout the city asking for votes. We really cannot undermine the strength of a million people.

Her online popularity is also very much present. They are always there to lift her up, feed her delusions, vote for her, send her gifts for recovery, for winning the show, fight tweet wars. I mean they are totally into Divyanka. 😆

Obviously, she was going to win. Let's assume Divyanka is not popular, BUT she was the most popular compared to the rest of the contestants. Abinam did not have a fanbase large enough to beat Divyanka. Monaya's popularity idk- if JDJ is any indication- they would probably get a hint.

They won...can't do much now. 🤔 *sigh*

Final winner is completely based on voting but not every week's elimination, right?

Every week judges give marks to the contestants which are counted for deciding the elimination, aren't they?

How come this couple didn't face elemination at least once with such horrible performances when judges' marks are also considered.

They were being favored every week. It's an open secret.

Actually they don't even deserve to be in finale, then the question of winning this season with popularity won't arise at all

And yes, many non-divek fans voted for divek just because of monaya fans

hmm not sure... but if u go in that way monaya and abinam (not sure about other couple) got saved when they got low marks, so it means votes played major role...

i guess 50% votes and 50% marks based that they got saved ...

where marks failed.. votes saved them

Different people have different measures of popularity and it is very difficult to measure that.

I might follow 100 people on twitter or instagram but i would vote for not even 1 of them.

Voting is very very tactical and calculative. A normal person will not think twice about voting for some random tv show, I mean, like who really cares.

So the majority of the voting comes from close family and friends, overactive PR and paid channels. Some mass market fans might also chip in here and there.

Coming to DT, yes, she has a show which is watched in rural markets, in Tier 2, Tier 3 cities but do they care enough to vote for them, I hardly doubt that.

50 people online and 5 fanclubs can go overboard but most pppl are not that jobless to actually be awake all night, spend an exorbitant amount of oney on purchasing sim cards and voting for some random chick he/she sees on TV.

The advantage that DT had is her long running show, excessive promotions and appearances tugging at people's heartstrings, so maybe we can assume that a considerable offline rural market segment got brainwashed into pitching in a vote or two. But over the years, I have realized that most of these are mere gimmicks and much of these are institutionalized and paid for.

So yeah, DT had a clear advantage in the mass market because of her image a sati-savitri SP bahu and her PR capitalized on that for promotions.

Now coming to Monaya, I think the couple themselves were far too egoistic and frankly arrogant about their so-called popularity. I don't doubt that they got a lot of votes from a section of people, but let's face it, it was only a mere section.

The truth is, Monaya have never been the ' it' couple of tellytown, they were kinda popular once, that too on a youth channel, and had to share the limelight with another very powerful couple. That show ended close to a decade back.

The show that catapulted Sanaya to success, ended more than 5 years back and neither Mohit, nor sanaya have been able to deliver a hit since. Audience memory is short and these shows run on recall value. JDJ was already indicative, but the digital platform can be fairly illusive. Fan wars on twitter and IF does not spell the " popularity" of someone. It is much ore complicated than that. At the end of the day, the product needs to resonate with your target audience and create recall value which I don't think Monaya had in them.

On the other hand, AbiNam's brand image was due to their consistent performances, their solid graphs which made people take notice.

Why DT won is a complex question to answer, but it was a combination of channel's involvement definitely, but also very very clever, active and situational promotions by them and their associates.

I just wanna clarify for those people who keep bringing the fact Sanaya lost jdj as an example of her not being "as popular as she thinks she is".
I don't know how many of you actually bothered to watch the show itself but are just passing around baseless comments about sanaya at any chance you get. Yes she became the first runner up, that wasn't because of voting but due to the scores she got in the finale. That was the first finale of jdj where they used scores to declare winners, 50% votes and 50% marks. There was 2 round, in both rounds sanaya got the lowest out of 4 people and Faisal the winner got the highest in both. Despite scoring the lowest she still was the 1st runner up, unlike some who scored higher than her but still ended up being 2nd or 3rd runner up. This clearly shows how popular sanaya is.
Unfortunately for us in NB, there was no international voting allowed, and about 70% of her fans are international. So calm down and stop feeding your ego. She is as popular as she think she is. Being able to reach finale without having most her fans being able to support her is something I'm very proud of because I didn't think we would make it.
