| THE die will soon be cast. Who will it be, after all? Hussain-Tina? Yash-Gouri? Hussain-Tina ?... As you tune in to Nach Baliye tonight for oodles of foot-tapping excitement, tears and laughter, the finalists themselves are not thinking too much of the outcome, neckdeep as they are in rehearsal. Actually, even if they are, they're not letting on, that's for sure. |
It's a little hard to believe that it's all going to be over soon," says an emotional Tina. "Inspite of not being a TV personality, I have never felt out of place as everyone has been so sweet to me, especially my choreographers, who've been so encouraging. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we reach so far." And what made a non-actor like her take up the challenge in the first place? Smiles Tina: "I never missed a single episode of the first season. I would always tease Hussain that maybe if I did a cameo in one of his serials, the channel would approach us as a couple. But when it did, I was reluctant, nevertheless. It took some convincing on Hussain's behalf, before I gave the nod," she reminisces. Giving total credit to their choreographers Harshal-Vitthal for helping them reach the finals, Tina talks of how everyone was sure that she would goof up, which would, in turn, cause Hussain to lose out. "But she proved everyone wrong,"says a proud Hussain. The other jodi, too is busy taking stock. "It will be healthy but tough competition," says Yash when asked about the finals. "We have been practising and wish to win, but Tina and Hussain are fantastic dancers." Gouri, who would have liked to see good friends Hiten and Gauri too, in the finals points out the sheer unpredictablility of the show. "But as far as talent is concerned, all four of us are on an equal footing." Yash, for his part, is looking to the calm after the storm. "It has been a great journey and I will miss the people for sure. But I can do with some relaxation, that's for sure," he expresses. The actor who now considers himself as an "above average" dancer is all praises for their choreographer. "Deepak is great at Latino dances. The salsa number he made us gyrate to has been the toughest." Sharing almost the same view, Gouri also feels that their Don act was a tough call. And what do they think of the judges? Avers Tina: "They were fair. No concessions were made for me just because I wasn't from the glamour industry. They were clear that I was there to dance, and I did just that." While Gouri believes they aren't always right. "They can be quite contradictory, at times." Actually, so's the junta. So, who will it be?
