Minnie, Your analysis is beautiful and elaborate. But in this whole forum I think only Sound,S.Priya and I think that T-B's first performance was better than the second. Everyone seems to think otherwise.

Dance: In earlier episodes, couples and choreographers have been given less marks for copying same to same from films, but nothing was said about this performance. I was dissapointed as far as the steps went. There is so much more to that era of dancing - Helen danced the same and evertime came out looking different. So I was not that impressed. They did not try anything different concept wise and stuck to the song. Even the props were not used properly.....In all, it was good, but not upto the semi final standard. I am not usre what impressed the judges so much.

My marks: 6/10

Hey Minnie, I pretty much agree with everything you've said, and anything I write will be like a repetition of what you've already written 😃...So I'm just going to be lazy ('coz I already got a lot of energy going into my exams 😛) and agree with what you've said....

However, I did want to quote this point of yours, because everyone really liked this performance, even though I thought that the steps were copied from the films...thankfully someone agrees with me...the beginning where Bakhtyar gets down from the steps, and Tanaz's intro dance was so like the movie (Teesri Manzil) and the cage act bore a striking resemblance to what Helen did in the song Piya tu ab to aaja (from the film Caravan)...

I am not sure why their points weren't deducted for that, or Saroj ji didn't even bother to point it out ....The only thing I could think of was that perhaps since it's an old song, even if steps were copied, it was done to recreate that time (as most of us wouldn't remember how the song was originally shot)....well, she didn't say anything to them in Mahi Ve either, when steps were copied, even though she was mean to some couples like Gurdeep-Arjun and Sharad-Keerti for doing it....

Saroj ji's occasional and convenient amnesia about this whole steps-being-copied concept really leaves me stumped

All in all, Y-G came back with a bang in the second performance and should have gotten 30, like most people said....I'm just listing my points here...analysis is exactly like yours 😊

H-T - Que Sera Sera -- 9/10

H-T - Bharat Humko -- 100/10 -- speechless

Y-G - Haila-Haila -- 7.5/10

Y-G - Aaja Gufaaon mein aa -- 10/10 ---ooh it was chilling man!!!

T-B - O Haseena -- 7/10

T-B - Yaadein -- 8/10 -- added lifts and lack of adequate expressions at times ruined the effect for me, but Tanaz was lovely!!

My two cents...
YG's first performance was slightly repetitive. I did not see anything different. The second one was very good with a different concept. Honestly, I thought that they would go out, and was surprised that they didn't.
TB's first performance was very good. I liked the second one also, but I felt as though the magic was missing. They performed well, but 1-2 lifts were repeated. Also, their expressions did not match - B was crying while T was smiling. They did not gel, and the chemistry of 'Kal Ho Na Ho' was missing completely, which is why I did not enjoy the second one as much as the first. I think I expect more from this pair.
HT's performances were good. They are my favorite pair, but I was a little disappointed. I expected more energetic steps in Kay Sera Sera, and I thought that they did not live upto the song. I also saw lack of coordination in both performances. In addition, Tina's stiffness and focus on steps is so obvious it takes away from the performance. But they are such a cute and charming couple, its hard not to like them. And Tina was adorable as a boy!

I hate the judges. They are so inconsistent and partial. In the past they overlooked TB's repetitive steps. Now despite good performances they don't give scores. First they put them on a pedestal and then bring about their fall. Malaika kept talking about B's arrogance. I really wish the couple had more polish on stage - they would still be in! Now HT are the judges darlings. It just seems so unfair especially since Saroj, despite being so qualified as a judge, chooses to go with favorites.

i missed the first round...so i will write abt the 2nd round only....

YG-i heard this song b4...and i used to wonder whthr any choreography is possible..and how wud a dance on this song be.it seemed unimaginable for me.but YG carried off the steps so well....i cnt describe in words for their performance and the lovely choregraphy...

score-10/10

TB-a sweet and calm song whr Tanaaz luked like a perfect angel..very cute performance...unlike the others whr TB always used to jump and get overexcited always and ruin the look of the song.

score-9/10

HT-disappointed....i had high expectations but this performance was no gr8 shakes.for their calibre...cud have done much better.since thr were no different steps..atleast expressions cud have covered.but only hussain had the appropriate expression...tina was blank all the way.i usually wait to see their performance...but was put down this time

score 6 or 7/10

i agree with u over all ur points...but i want to add tht bakhtiyar was feeling sad tht she had died...whr as tanaaz was already dead and he was having her in his memories....and also something like tht she wud be with him even after she's dead..thts why the difference in their emotions....thts wht i cud percept.😊

Hey Minnie

Add another to the bunch of people who support your analysis. i think it was accurate and perfect.

Yash and Gauri - to be honest i feel that the song that they received wasnt to got. i felt it was a little bad luck for this duo becoz of that. I mean if you consider Kay sera sera and oh haseena; haila haila's a bit dumb. it's a good song but compared to the other two it's a bit staid. If Kunal wanted to give a hrithik song then there are so many of his dance numbers. I hope these guys dance really well in the finals and prove to everyone that they are good and hardoworking and not here just by luck!
my points - YG - 7/ 10 - 1st round, 2nd round - mindblowing dunno know for wht reason saroj gave 9. I think she did it deliberately

Tanaaz and Bakhtiyaar - i felt that i was just watching a spoof on the original song. And i actually felt that the judges esply Saroj would point out that it was a frame to frame copy of the original there was nothing new? but i fail to understand the judges psyche sometimes.
my points - 1st round - 6/10, 2nd round - missed this so cant comment!

Hussain and Tina - must confess am little biased here. i find this couple to be too cute but keeping the biasedness aside i confess wasnt much impressed by the 1st performance. i thought Tina lacked in energy and Hussain's steps werent anything gr8, i mean the original song was mindblowing and their version of it was in one word for me - disappointing.
Their second performance left me speechless
H T - 1st round - 8/ 10, 2nd round - 100000000/ 10

to me judges are biased towards HUTI no matter what..
k sera sera was also copy of the performance... Huti's choreographer did
some of the steps in the choreographers round...
and even Prabhu deva did some steps..

when HUTI's choreographer performed and made major mistake they got
away with 30 out of 30... but when minnie looked away and looked lost
her points got cut off.. what kind of judging is this....

and in bharat humko they also made mistakes.. but saroj went blind and
didn't notice that...

Tanaz and Bhaktyaar may have copied the steps.. but they didn't look
copied... and plus when u ask someone to do 70's wht u expect. there
aren't any other steps except those... i have taken enough dance classes
to know that... and plus even if Tanaaz have tried something different,
public will boo her down.... so she figured lets do something similar...

just beacause judges wanted HUTI to have easy win they picked Yash and
Gauri, whose choreographer isn't that great... so that HUTI could have the
trophy...

don't worry...

HUTI will win... Judges are biased enough to do that...

here are my 2 cents :

First Round:

1) Yash - Gauri - Haila haila
Costume : wont say anything outstanding, but suitable.
Concept : very general.
Dance : one of their most ordinary performances (but not bad). They were in sync with each other.Yash's expression were good but Gouri seemed a bit lost and worried.I felt this song fell in some places. This isnt a song which can be chosen for a stage performance.Atleast when our troup performs, we choose song which carry the dance beat throughout.
Score : 6/10

2) Tanaz Baktyar : Shammi-Helen
Costume : perfect for the song
Concept : Retro (Bollywood)
Dance : steps were in sync.the energy was just right luckily.tanaz's expression were good.It was a good attempt from her but would have been even better if she couldshake her hips a bit more prominently (that was helen's biggest USP).Baktyar was better than Tanaz.
Score : 8/10

3)Hussain Tina :K Sera
Costume : Not very appealing.there was a lot better the costumedesigner coulddo for western stylish outfits for such a song.the hats seemed too school concert types.
Dance : Swear by the god i worship, i saw them out of sync atleast 4 times.(is there anyone who can deny with an honest heart that they didnt lose sync 4 times?)the steps were simple.this song demanded high energy and fast sliding steps.had this been hussain's solo performance, i am sure we would have had a blast.but considering tina's limitations, they had to settled for slower steps.they could have performed better on the shammi kapoor-helen song instead of this one. overall a very mediocre performance and showed lack of practice.much better is expected of this couple.
Score : 6/10

Second Round
1) Yash Gouri - aaja gufa me
Costume : Bang on target.helped to create a feel.
Concept : ghostly effect.
Dance : the theme was supported by well by swaying steps, postures and lifts.props used well.good timing and co-ordination.this sure was the dance of the day.
Score : 10/10

2) tanaz baktyar-yaaden
Costume : tanaz looked very beautiful.baktyar looked gloomy as needed.
Concept : romantic- a love story hit by the girl's death where the guy imagines her presence.
Dance : for a change (pleasant one) baktyar was in control of his energy.tanaz was graceful.good emotions too.there were steps and lifts too.what they had done earlier on kal ho na ho was close to ballet...this one was close to waltz.the only similarity in the two dances was that they were western and romantic.but the concept and dance forms were very different for each other.
Score : 8/10

Hussain Tina - Roja Song
Costume : was like something students quickly arrange before the independence day performance in school.could have been more innovative keeping the theme in mind.
Concept : Brilliant concept-national integration.
Dance : the concept could have had some steps too.the same story could be brought across with swirling steps.they didnt seem to have spent much time ont his dance.they spent a some seconds on the praying part, sword fight and running helter skelter(the non dance aspects).tina's face was totally devoid of any expressions.overall which amateurish performance.this song and ae mere watan ke logon are 2 songs which can jerk tears with the audio alone (can anyone deny that?)give the songs their due credit.
Score :7/10
