Varun Badola resurfaces

Last seen in his dancing shoes with his spouse Rajeshwari, Varun Badola is all gung ho about his role in the upcoming serial 'Ek Chhaabi Hai Pados Mein' (Star Plus). He is cast as the 'under-dog' son of his real-life father Vishnu Badola.

"This emotional serial holds a special sentiment because my dad Vishnu Badola (a stalwart theatre actor) plays my screen-father who brings me up," says Varun on the serial to be aired next month.

Incidentally, Vishnu plays Vidya Balan's grand-father in 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'. "In its own way, 'Ek Chaabi..' is a slice-of-life story where I play the boy next-door who is an underdog but yet loved by all. The unusual title implies that sometimes even neighbours can offer smart solutions to our problems," smiles Varun who is romantically paired opposite actress-danseuse Suhaasi Goradia in the serial.

Clearing the air about the delay in comedy serial 'Arranged Marriage' where his wife Rajeshwari is his co-star, Varun says, "For reasons best known to the producers the serial has been stalled for the past eight months. Interestingly, Rajeshwari does not play my wife or girlfriend in the serial which is a subtle niche comedy. It should go on air by the end of this year".
