They are called the hottest pair on the dance show that seems to have become a rage. Every successive week Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola's performance has only gotten better. Choreographer-cum-judge Saroj Khan even gave them a standing ovation. But this week there was a tumult of a slightly different kind. Apparently Sachdev fainted in her vanity van a few minutes before her performance.
The duo was scheduled to perform first and despite severe health problem, the actress went ahead with her performance. "I was on my way to the set and I had a sudden vertigo attack, due to which I even threw up," she explained. After gaining consciousness, Sachdev was disoriented for the entire day. "It was damn difficult. But I didn't tell the judges that I was unwell as that would have made it awkward for them and me as well," she says.
She says that she didn't want to make an issue out of it and decided to do her best. "After fainting, one does feel disoriented throughout the day and I actually performed, which obviously wasn't up to the mark." The couple's performance, following the incident, was a bit short of its usual competence, but they continue to remain on the show. "I could have asked the concerned people to postpone my performance as it was immediately after I fainted. But doing that would have meant chickening out and I certainly didn't want to do that," Sachdev says.
The talented actress has recovered, and is all set to dance in the forthcoming episodes of Nach Baliye. "As an actor, I take criticism more seriously than applause. Everyone has been so appreciative of our performance. The pressure of living up to their expectation is on us. I seriously hope that we continue to do our best and don't let them down." The actress has been taking dancing lessons since she was six, and her husband, Varun Badola, too, makes sure that he gets his steps right. That's exactly what makes them the judges and the audiences' favourite.
