Archana has a pain in the neck

If you find TV actress Archana Puran Singh a bit stiff on this week's episode of Nach Baliye (on Star One), blame it on her neck. The actress woke up yesterday morning at 6 to discover she had a badly sprained neck.

"Parmeet (her husband) has been going for early morning shoots, so I decided to be a good wife and give him company when he woke up. But the moment I got up and turned around, I heard a 'clack' and my neck went stiff," said Archana.

Has to do jhatkas

Singh called her doctor when the pain grew unbearable. "She obviously asked me to take rest, but there's no way I'm going to back out from today's shoot," she said.

"Shah Rukh used to tell me, 'You don't have to worry as unlike me, you don't have to prance around'. But it's all changed after Nach Baliye and I have to do jhatak-mataks," added Singh. Khan had surgery for his neck this year.

Exams ahead

The actress believes the pain has been aggravated because of the stress and anxiety she's been going through. "Nach Baliye is like a huge exam for all of us. It's nerve-wracking and hellish, especially when it comes to the voting-out stage. More than the money, it's prestige that is at stake."

Sons pray for parents

Her two sons — Ayushmaan (6) and Aaryamann(9) have built their mom a miniature temple where they pray for her success.

"We recently went for the premiere of Hanuman where my boys got these cute cutouts of the god. They came home and built me a small cardboard temple, and every day they pray for my success on the show. It brings tears to my eyes. I have to perform for them; I cannot sit at home and whine about the pain."

She adds, "I will be taking a painkiller and performing. I know there will be pain, but it won't be as bad as the pain of being voted out," smiles the actress.
