Priyanka Chopra, the sizzling hot sexy babe of bollywood who had agreed to be a guest judge on the dance reality show Nach Baliye, backed out at the last minute after learning that Amrita Rao, too, had been accorded the same honour.
Sources say that Piggy Chops was not too happy about being bracketed with Amrita Rao, who was not only junior to her, but has yet to make her mark in bollywood. Priyanka's disliking for Amrita Rao has increased after Hurman Baweja was seen paying more attention to her and Priyanka got a whiff of it through her own sources. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Hurman Baweja and Amrita Rao grew fond of each other during the making of 'Victory', where they share screen space with each other.
However, the channel was furious with Priyanka Chopra for behaving in such an unprofessional manner and backing out at the last moment, when she had confirmed it well in advance. The channel sources say that they could have gone for some other big heroine if informed earlier, but they could do nothing when Priyanka informed them on the day of shoot.
Sources say that Priyanka had made all sorts of inquiries with the channel like 'what would be the format' and 'what media would be covering the event' etc, so that she could prepare better and would not be caught off guard. Perhaps during these talks, when she came to know about Amrita Rao, the decision about not attending the show was made.
The grapevine has it that Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu has been preparing to open a cosmetic surgery clinic 'Aesthetic' in the Juhu area and the bollywood babe might have dropped the idea of going to shoot to help mom in the preparations. The clinic is to be launched some time by next month.
But sources close to Priyanka Chopra say that there was some scheduling problem regarding the time and shooting of the episode from the very beginning and despite of best efforts on the part of the actress, she could not make it.
However, the buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the real reason behind Priyanka's absence is the presence of Amrita Rao on the show, despite of the fact that Priyanka is not on good terms with Hurman anymore.
In fact, Priyanka Chopra has often been seen with Shahid Kapur and if the buzz is to be believed then he has already replaced Hurman Baweja in Priyanka's life. Priyanka and Shahid have even shot for a hot steamy kissing scene in Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming film 'Kaminay'.
This sounds like a very silly premise. Priyanka is not someone very fussy and has gone with Kareena to KBC so I am doubtful of some of the conclusions made here.
