The Ending I Longed For

I genuinely felt Naamkaran should have ended with today's' episode as for me, it is probably one of the best episodes of the show.

I started watching NK from its' first episode. I loved Ayesha, little Avni & Neela. I cried hugging my mom after watching Ayesha dying & then after a certain point I stopped watching. Because, I felt they destroyed the essence of NK the moment they killed off Ayesha & turned Avni into a super-kid.

ZAKHM is one of my all-time favorite movies. But more than the fact that NK was based on the movie, I was moved by its' first promo. And in less than 3 hours of time Mahesh Bhatt had brought out the pain & sufferings of a kid born out of wedlock & his mother. So I was sure with Arsheen & Barkha & later Sayantani it was gonna be a great show.

But in Indian Serials, TRP matters more than the content. So they started showing everything other than the main concept & when that didn't work introduced a generation leap & brought out fresh faces who gave NK its massive fan following.

I haven't seen AdiZa/AvNeil pre-leap. I have nothing to say about them. Post leap, the few episodes I have seen, I can understand Zain is a really good actor & probably AvNeil/AdiZa had a wonderful chemistry. Good luck to both of them for their future projects.

But amidst of all the frustration over NiTali's marriage & KaiSha & whatsoever, I got to see the pain & truth for which I had once started following this show.

It's not just the pain of a child but also a single mother has to endure the society's taunt her whole life. When you are courageous enough to end tie with a man like Neela did, even there you are questioned. And let's not start on the emotional turmoil the child has to face.

These were the things which should have been addressed in length. But you guys introduced Rangmahal & Neil's ex & now turned Mitali into Neil's lover who once had played an instrumental role in their union. You introduced the word NAZAYEZ only when you had to insult Avni but never really explored that territory.

So yes, while I am least bothered about with whom Neil will end up, I am thankful for today's episode where Ayesha & Neela received the tribute they deserved, where Avni once again stood straight against the double standards of our society & made her mothers proud.
