After thinking for some 1095 hours from a common person's POV, I have come to the conclusion that Neil was absolutely justified in getting engaged with Multani Mitti (read Multani Mitti).
The main reason I am supporting Neil is because the money invested for the engagement would have been wasted, had he called off the engagement ,that too Prakash's hard earned money. Starting from dress, jewellery,food (including cake and champagne), decoration etc.
The engagement rings will not have much resale value, so before selling them its better to wear them, who puts it on your finger is not important.
Plus the guests would have left without giving the gifts. Already till now, almost all the parties in Khanna house have been ruined due to some drama or the other and Prakash has lost a lot of money in these parties.So this time like a responsible son, Neil wanted to wrap up the event without creating any drama.
After hearing about Mowgli's truth, the guests must have started speculating that this time also they will have to leave without having food but Neil pleasantly surprised them by going ahead with the engagement. And now they will come with better gifts in marriageš
I appreciate Neil for thinking like a practical person this time and not cancelling the engagement due to some trivial reasons.
