Mowgli was calling him superman because Neil helped them in time of need and even saved their lives, not because of what he does.

Mowgli first needs to know and understand both his father and mother and respect them equally before he makes a judgment on his Father.

Both my Brother and Sis have been in the IAS. I have cousins in state police and a other relatives in IPS.

My SIL took leave from IAS fro 5 years and completed additional degrees in that time period. After 5 years, the govt. asked her to make a formal decision for come back or resign. she was in a dilemma but decided to go back and not resign as she loved the job so much.

My brother on the other hand took leave to study further. Eventually the govt asked him to make a formal decision as well and he chose to resign.

As far as I know from my own family resigning is definite.

However I will ask them if there is a grace period post resignation that some when can join back and how long is it.

I can certainly say that it cannot be 10 years.
