They don't air it live and I have heard that mostly they are scripted and winner is pre-decided

No dear. I don't even understand the game as it's not a commonly played game in our country as compared to football. That's the huge craze here. I never followed previous BCL too to understand the game rules. Not a fan of reality game shows.
