The car ride had been filled with silence and stolen glances. The silence deafening. The unsaid words and feelings running through both their respective minds. Who would stop this from continuing? Who would stop the distancing of the two? Whoever it was, it was not them. They were all but confused.

And just like that, a week passed. Avni and Neel had seen each other, 10 times in the past week. Either Avni will go back to the Khanna house because she accidentally took some of Neel's stuff back home or Neel's parents found something of Avni's and Neel insisted that he had to immediately drop it at hers because Avni might need it. Then there was Avni fulfilling her promise to bebe too and naturally Neel took brought all his police work to home that day. Despite all the meetings of the pair, the meetings were still filled with the awkward tension, the unsaid words ringing in their minds and the stolen glances.

They didn't know what to say to each other. How could they? They didn't know what to tell themselves. They didn't understand what they were feeling. They didn't understand their restlessness to see each other. They didn't understand their 'justified reasons to meet each other again were excuses. They didn't understand their sleepless nights were because of the emptiness they felt without each other and not the fact their rooms just felt different. They didn't understand the relief that washed upon them when they had the time constrained meetings and the first glimpse of each other brightened up the day. It was weird. It was unexplainable. Avni never felt this way before. Neel never thought he would feel this way again. But both Avni and Neel blamed their inner turmoil not on love but the habit of always being with each other.

"Mujhko uski aadat si hogi thi. With time, this weird feeling will leave aur main usse bhule doonga/doogi", both of them thought amongst themselves.
