In these past two episodes, neil has annoyed me quite a lot. The reason being is that in scenes from yesterday and today, such as the phone tapping scene, and today's nanno scene with her revealing about the gunshot, and the madhvi scene, he really disappointed me with his reaction, or should I say, lack of.
In both of these scenes, his mind and his ears are solely focused on finding out more about ananya/ avni. In both scenes, where nanno reveals about daya shooting avni in the chest, and madhvi saying that ananya/ avni has suffered so much and has a gunshot wound since 15 years, each time, his reaction was next to none. His mind is only on suspecting ananya, finding out about ananya, confirming whether ananya is avni, but never once did I see or feel that he feels remorse for judging and hating ananya, or him feeling sorry when he is being told about the sufferings of avni/ ananya, or even once think about daya's involvement.
In the phone tapping scene, he didn't look in the slightest bit effected by hearing ananya's trust in him and hearing how she keeps him in high regard. Neither did he seem much effected when madhvi told him how she has gone through so much and has a gunshot wound. Even there he looked serious and was only thinking that his suspicion against ananya planning things against mehta's is confirmed. For god sake, ask yourself whether the mehta's are really good or question himself about daya for once.
During those convos between nanno and then madhvi, I expected him to feel sorry hearing what she has gone though or at least think that she must have gone through a lot. And the two things that annoyed me the most is that serious, suspicious cop look that he kept displaying even when being told these sad facts, as if just collecting the facts and investigating matter to him, and not the pain of the person involved. Sometimes neil fails to show human compassion towards ananya or avni, and only shows suspicion and hatred when trying to know more about her.
Then there is the second thing that annoys me. Even after hearing all this, he keeps looking as if he still considers the girl a criminal despite everything he has heard and doesn't seem to even think about daya's involvement in all this. Never once has he been shown suspecting or thinking that maybe daya has wronged avni or ananya, or thinking at least whether daya did shoot avni. He just keeps questioning himself about ananya/ avni's reality rather than questioning daya's reality. He needs to be shown with a little more human emotion, and needs to be shown actually wondering whether daya is as innocent or good as she seems, otherwise he is starting to get annoying and ignorant looking to me.
