Who is Neil?

Neil is the lead yet we don't know who is Neil. We know he is an IPS officer, he is getting married to Riya and he has a family who he loves a lot. But we still don't know who is Neil, whats his motive, why is he ignoring or pretending to ignore MEHTA crimes, what is his past, his family past?

I think his parents have a past too. But we don't know anything about him and his family. He is the most mysterious character of the show. On one hand, Avni's life is like an open book to viewers but Neil's life is a complete close book.

Is Neil Akash? or Is Neil also a illegitimate child like Avni?

I was annoyed when he told Nanno that Ananya is manipulative girl but when Nanno said Daya is killer of her daughters.
Then Neil said that he know that but everytime Daya is proved innocent
It is a hint that Neil is actually ignoring Mehtas crime because he knows about Mehtas and their past deeds but he is upto something so he pretends normal in front of everyone
I was disappointed when he said that Riya is not like her family I really want to see Neil witnessing Riya's evil side

No doubt Zain is good but I seriously can't bring myself to like Avni-Neil.
When it comes to Avni he's so judgemental and that's really so ANNOYING. He's always trying to prove that she is wrong and actually he've already made an opinion about her which he's not willing to change. And now he've started a new thing where he's going upto people (nanno) and telling them how 'Ananya is such a manipulative girl' and blah blah. And gosh he's spending an insane amount of time stalking Avni that's like so annoying.I know he thinks that Avni is a sort of low key criminal or she's hiding something or whatever it is but because all this investigation he's doing I'm unable to like AvNeil.
guys I'm sorry for bashing Neil but what can I do I had to vent my frustration somewhere. But plz understand that I don't dislike Neil it's just that he's annoys me but I'm sure that will change as soon as he stops judging Avni :)

I understand where everyone is coming from. But Neil knows everything. he have closely observed Mehta and RIYA. He knows them very well but he has some hidden motive. He does not want anyone to know about it.

We even don't know the history of Akash. Who was he? He told Avni about his grandparents but he never discussed his parents.

Well Same here. Lots of questions arising in my mind but we'll HV to wait for Neil's past to be revealed.
Neil can be someone who wants revenge from mehtas but why is not yet clear.
He might hv been hurt or has some deep scars which r hidden.
His motive is not clear but u raised important point there's a possibility of him being illegitimate but that will be too much for an Indian show :D Both the leads as illegitimate will b sort of strange.Anyways I'm glad cvs HV started to open up layers of Neil's character.

He can be akash but who's akash we don't even know much abt him.
