I'm just going to repost what i posted in the TC article.
Thank god for this news I was sick and tired of seeing a show with another spineless man whose biggest love affair is with his over-controlling mother, and a selfless woman who refuses to stand-up for her rights and then cries when life is cruel to her. It is a show that had a good story but the characters are too atypical to every other indian serial in existence to make a mark for being different. Thank god it is going off air.
Sorry if anyone disagrees, but in all honesty, if you think about it there is nothing different about this show. The same stupid and spineless male lead who always does injustice with the female lead although he claims to love her and follows his wicked mother as if he has no mind of his own, and a tyaag ki devi female lead who doesn't stand up for herself and claim her rights and rather just cries.

The article is as follows on TC:

Star Plus' Naamkarann to go off air?

It is rightly said that each show comes with its own fate.

Naamkarann, a show that was said to break all shackles and come out as a game changer has sadly not managed to gain ratings and audience's attention.

Helmed by Mahesh Bhatt, produced by Guroudev Bhalla and flaunting a stellar star cast of Barkha Bisht, Viraf Phiroz Patel, Reema Lagoo, Sayantani Ghosh and more, Naamkarann seemed to be a very promising story.

But as all good things come to an end, it is time to bid goodbye to this show too.

Credible sources have shared with us that Naamkarann is all set to wrap up by next month (November).

Shocking, isn't it?

Well, trust us, even we are quite surprised.

Shared a source, "Naamkarann did create quite a lot of buzz when it was about to launch but it all fizzled out soon. The makers had a specific story in mind and now, with the pressure of ratings weighing upon their shoulders, they decided to pull off the plug than continue it with mindless drama for the sake of numbers."

The makers are currently deciding on the climax and closing in all loose ties.

We buzzed producer Guroudev but he did not respond to our queries till the time of filing the story.

Our efforts to reach the channel spokesperson also remained futile.

Yes, the serial is very well executed but they dragged the sections previous shown in Zakhm. That guy Ashish was shown writing an email to his mom for almost a week! And they Asha and Ashish incapable of any logical thought or empathy for their daughter. They are only concerned with their romance. Even if they get married - they will never be a normal family, because they do not know how to interact with each other on an everyday level and to raise kids!
I am not surprised that the show is pulled off!
