My thoughts about first epi!

Hey guys!

I see a lottt of familiar faces and new faces here! So happy to see you all here!❤️ I thought that the first episode was a good start but it could improve a lot of things. There was no flow between the scenes, it was like I was watching random scenes on autoplay in YouTube. I wish there was a little bit more background on the pandemic and why icchadari naagin is the most viable solution. I thought the promo of this show was ridiculous but after some thought its not bad if it's executed right. We have seen soooo many superhero movies where highschool kid injected with spider venom fought alongside other superheros who either were injected with chemicals or were in powerful armor against a villian that can wipe out the whole world. So a naagin fighting pandemic also makes sense. However all of the superhero movies spend the first movie establishing the problem and why these superheroes are the solution. I wish we got to see a little more of that. The patriotic bgms were a lil comical as they were used out of context.

Coming to the actors so far everyone seems good and very promising. I love Teja's voice modulation while she was dubbing. She is soft voiced but can be fierce when the situation demands. I loved Mehak's look she looked badass. Its too early for me to comment on Simba tho.

Also the story so far looks veryyy similar to naagin 1. In season 1, problem was introduced and then ada and then the leads meet as mouni resuces arjun. Arjun was also engaged with his best friend at the beginning. So far I noticed very similar patterns to first season. But it's only first epi, let's see how the show unfolds. I am in it for Teja 😍😍 I just hope they take care of the editing and transition tho.

Sorry for the longgg post 😅

Hey youuu!!! ❤️

Agreed about the technical part! Like I have no issues with any absurdity in the show from a story-telling perspective as at the end of the day I did sign up for a Balaji supernatural-fiction show. But the least I expect from such an experienced production house is to not compromise on something as basic as editing and transitions. Also if they're claiming to have spent 130 crores on this season then I really hope at least from a technical standpoint they do justice to their own product.

Because as far as direction was concerned, everyone was actually quite good acting-wise. Plus the cast this time is definitely strong and experienced. Sudha Chandran, Urvashi Dholakia and Mahek Chahal all three have plenty of experience in playing all out negative or grey shade roles. The range and talent that Manit Joura has is just wow. Tejasswi comes with the biggest fanbase among all of them, plus she was sooo good in the first episode, all natural and such a simple no-nonsense girl whose sole focus is her father and how to make her father's life better. And my god her eyes and her voice. ❤️

Yes they have gone a bit overboard with all the patriotic themes of "Desh ki Mitti" and OTT songs and "Chingistan" stuff, but I'm willing to excuse some stuff as it's just the beginning. I just hope the show doesn't end up giving xenophobic message in the name of "desh ke asuro ka vinaash". Maybe they'll find their footing with time and tweak things that aren't working.

Also I really wish they work on the Professor's character a bit more, give Manit something more to do as the Professor's dialogues with the monks were just too much for me to take seriously. Another thing is - personally I’ve no interest in and can't connect with Simba’s character yet, Idk his character seems too bland to me for now. But let’s give it time, probably it's too early to make a judgment. I’m ready to be patient. Let’s see where Ekta takes it... 😊

Omg I thought I was the only one. The random cuts in between the scenes were so annoying! I wish they could have put a better transition but no. It was like cut - jump to next.

I still have to watch the second episode but first one was really good! I have only seen season 1 but I did see snippets of the rest and I could never connect with them. Even tho the reason is solely Teja, I love the actors. They are amazing, especially Sudha as villain. Oh I’m waiting to see her. Plus Mahek… I am watching her for the first time but dude, she just blew me. She’s a different face but her presence is so so powerful. I think she could have an amazing bond with Teja’s character. I couldn’t really connect with Teja & Simba’s pair as I have always seen them giving me sibling vibe in Bb lol but I’m sure I’ll eventually adjust to it.

Oh and Teja’s acting is mind blowing. The way she was mimicking the lines in front of her father… the innocence and when she was actually dubbing the dialogues… I was blown! So excited to see her as an actual naagin. Hopefully the cut part will improve because as a video editor myself it just irks me soooo much.

So far apart from the weird cuts, I really liked the episode. The professor’s acting was powerful too. What I couldn’t get is the patriotic music when the naagin arrived. I mean I understand she saves the country and it makes sense when they played at Simba’s arrival but Naagin? No… so weird. Could have just played a naagin song lol

I have watched the second episode and honestly out of everyone, I thought only Teja was justifying her role. Mehak is fine but she lacks the fierce voice a naagin has, she literally yelled "MAIN NAAGIN HOON", seriously made me laugh. Also idk if its just me but the makeup artist needs to tone down the palmade on the eyebrows for Mehak, they make her face seem a lil too harsh. She definetely has a lot to improve when I compare her to ada or Anita. Simba also needs to work on his expressions and dialouges. The fiances were irritating tho. I can't say anything about Sudha/Urvashi as they barely had any screen time. But their characters look interesting. Teja was fab in acting as innocent, naive and helpless. Again the team needs to improve their execution, this epi was better than then first one from a technical point of you but can be much more better. Also laser vision from naagin, finding culprits through a painting sounds a lil comical. I wish they bring in like intel from spies. Like mehak being a spy going to the area the poison spread and finding out about the culprits could have made much more sense. But saying all this, I can't wait for Teja to unveil as the naagin, I hope they justify this sequence and episodes flow a lil better. I am also waiting to see how the love story develops between Pratha and Rishab

I also think Ada and Anita were better than Mahek.

agreed! Mehak's naagin look is very clean and looks natural rather than obvious green screen.

What's so xenophobic about showing Chinese as villains? I mean, they probably won't have the guts to show it, but it's the truth.
