Jay ended up helping Bani and Veer defeat Chandrakala as he fell for Bani. He realized that he loved her and the regret seeped in. He wasn’t sure if he had lost her forever but he wanted to redeem himself and so he tried this way. Once they killed her, they all went back to Cheel mansion. Jay went to his room to attend to his wounds and Vani went to theirs. After taking care of each other and freshening up, Bani stepped out of the bathroom to find Veer looking out of the window.
“Veer, we need to talk.”
Veer turned around, “Of course. Are you okay sweetheart?”
“I don’t know. We haven’t spoken since Navratri. Everything’s just been getting messier and messier. I know it’s been a really long day but mujhe guttan hone lagi hai Veer, I really need to sort this out.”
“Bani, I’m here. What do you need to sort out? Whatever it is, we’ll talk all night if that helps, I’m all ears,” he said as he came closer to her, not wanting to touch her though as he thought that might upset her even more.
“Veer, there’s one thing I need before we talk though,” Bani said slightly worried.
“Anything, tell me what it is.”
“I need to talk to Jay. Look, I know you don't like him and I know how you feel about him but before we talk I really need to close that chapter. I need to sort things out with Jay. Please understand.”
Veer wasn’t sure how to feel but he knew that he couldn’t stop her, this was something she had to do. “I understand. Talk to him and sort what you need to. I’ll be waiting here.”
He reassured her with a smile and with that, Bani left the room and went towards Jay’s. It was two rooms down from theirs. She knocked and heard him ask who it was.
“It’s me, Bani. Can we talk?”
Jay opened the door and led the way for her to enter. He motioned for her to sit at the sofa and he sat at the chair adjacent.
“Is everything okay Bani?” Jay asked.
“We need to talk.”
He nodded in agreement, “We do.”
“Jay, thank you for today. For helping us defeat Markat. I really appreciate you helping us today,” Bani said genuinely.
“Bani, I love you. I know I didn’t show that before and I know I messed up. Messed up is an understatement, I royally screwed up. But I really do love you. I hope you know that.”
“If I’m being honest, I don't know jay. I appreciate what you did today but after everything, I just can’t trust you anymore. I wanted us to talk so we can clear everything up. I need a clean slate with you before I can move on.”
“I’m sorry, for everything. I understand that you cant trust me anymore. But Bani, we’d be perfect together. Don't you think we’d work well? Veer is a Cheel, you’d always have that difference,” he said in a desperate attempt to convince her.
Bani smiled a little, “No, see that’s where you’re wrong. Jay, you and I could never work. There’d always be something missing between us. Jay I’m not the one for you. You want a ji huzoori biwi and that’s not me. I can’t be that and if we’re being honest, I’d never be happy with you.”
“Why not?” Jay asked curious.
“Because jay, I want more. I’d always want more. I want that sanki wala pyaar, the one that you find in movies and the kind of love that you can trust in any situation. I wouldn’t get that with you.”
“Bani, you mean, you want the love veer gives you.”
“No I don’t mean that, I just mean that the kind of love I’m looking for, I wouldn’t get with you and the kind of wife you want, you wouldn’t get with me.”
“Bani, tell me one thing.”
“Of course.”
“Let’s say you hadn’t met Veer, would you have been happy with me? Not knowing veer and his love, basically.”
“I wouldn’t have known the other side but Jay, I’d always be waiting. I’d be waiting and hoping for more. For the love I want. Something would have always been missing. I’m sorry Jay but, it’s not meant to be. Not just for me but for you too.”
“After everything I’ve done, the fact that you're giving me an explanation means a lot. Thank you Bani. I’m going to leave this house tonight, there’s no reason for me to stay back but before I do go, I just want to give you a piece of advice. Talk to Veer. Without your guard up, without thinking of the world. Just you and him. Tell him how you feel. You deserve to be happy Bani.”
Bani smiled and nodded. She started tearing up slightly because no matter what, she was losing someone today. She hugged Jay and wished him well before leaving the room and going to hers. Veer on the other hand had been pacing his room, wondering what Bani wanted to talk to Jay about and what conversation she was desperate to have with him. She entered the room and his eyes immediately darted towards hers.
“Are you okay?” Veer asked seeing her a little teary eyed.
“Yes, I’m fine. Jay’s leaving this house tonight.”
“Are you sad because he’s leaving? Do you want to go with him?” he asked genuinely unsure.
Veer poured a glass of water for her and handed it to Bani. They both sat at their sofa and she took a sip before she responded, “No, I’m where I want to be. With you.”
Veer looked on surprised but extremely over joyed.
“With me?” he asked making sure.
“Yes, with you.”
“I’m confused, is this what you wanted to talk about earlier?”
Bani got comfy and then explained, “Veer, I don’t really know what I want to talk about but, I just need to talk to you. I can’t keep everything in anymore. Everything’s really confusing. We didn’t talk when you found out about satyug, we didn’t talk when you found out I was a naagin, we didn’t talk when we found your mother, and after whatever happened today, I feel overwhelmed.”
“I’ve been waiting to talk sweetheart, I’ll be here sitting my entire life talking to you if you want. Tell me what’s bothering you the most and we’ll go from there, okay?”
“I don’t love Jay. I never did. I spoke to him to thank him for today and then we ended up talking about us - like Jay and I. I told him that we would’ve never worked, that I would’ve always wanted more.”
“What do you want sweetheart? What would’ve been missing?”
“You.”
“What?”
“I want a relationship where I can be an equal. One that doesn’t require me to be less than. One where my husband trusts me and roots for me. A relationship that has immense trust, no matter what the situation. A relationship that I know, no matter who or what, my husband will save me from the situation. I want someone who will protect me and care for me. Someone who only looks at me, no one else. I mean, you can look at other people, but like you get what I mean?”
Veer nodded and chuckled before Bani continued, “I want the kind of love that fills me up, the one that makes me high over. The kind of love I don’t have to worry about ever losing. I can go to any extent for the person I love and I want someone who would match that. I want that sanki wala pyaar.”
“Where do I fit in this equation, gharwali?” Veer pressed. He knew every bit of this explanation was about him, it had him dripping through and through but he wanted to hear it from Bani.
“I love you.”
i don’t really want to end it in any other way than this so um yea this was a random piece that was basically a compilation of unsaid conversation from my personal life projected to vani. i’ve had these conversations on repeat in my mind and thought might as well fit them into a vani os while i’m at it. i hope you enjoy?
