Mahir: Main tumhara saath nahin chod sakta..

Bela: Kyun? Kyun nahin chod sakte? I mean aap apni priorities badal sakte hain na? Koi majboori nahin hai na...

Mahir: Arre majboori ki baat nahin hai you fool I love you...dil ki baat hai..

I love you Bela..isliye main tumhaare saath zindagi bhar khada rahoonga..andhere mere bhi khada rahoonga. Tumhe aur kisi baat par bharosa ho na ho iss baat par bharosa rakho ki main marte dum tak tumhaare saath hoon.

Like Mahir ji even I felt Bela was being a fool in asking that why can't Mahir leave her? Why can't he change his priorities?

Isn't it a silly question to ask? In the time of need would you just abandon the person you love? That just can't be so.

Either Bela asked that question in the sense that for God's sake Mahir, for your own sake why can't you just leave me?! Why can't you change your priorities?! (Remember once before she even asks him that doesn't he feel like asking her to go away because she always messes up)

OR it was an innocent Bela's dillusioned heart asking for further more reaffirmation that Mahir truly loves her.

Mahir has always been the more expressive of the two. Be it through his words or actions, he has reiterated again and again what Bela means to him. AND YET there's a part of her heart which refuses to believe that someone can truly love the way Mahir loves her. (That could be because of the betrayals she faced at the hands of the very people she once trusted and loved)

That whole scene made me think of certain dailogues from two of my favourite serials.

One from KRPKAB

When Dev tells Sonakshi

"Pyaar haq de deta hai Sonakshi...mera tum par haq hai kyunki main tumse pyaar karta hoon.."

Likewise Mahir tells Bela that majboori ki baat nahin hai you fool I love you...I won't ever leave you because I love you...(Pyaar haq de deta hai Bela 😉 Haq to make the choice to be with the person you love through every thick and thin)

The other dailogue that I got reminded of was from Zindagi Gulzar Hai. When Kashaf writes in her dairy

"..Apne ird gird tumhara ghoomna, mere wajood se na hatnay waali tumhaari gehri bolti nazrein, tumhaari har waqt ki tawajja, tumhara jaan chudknay waala har andaaz.."

Kashaf ain't the very expressive kind either when it comes to love, infact she confesses her love to Zaroon only in the last episode. While she absolutely loves and enjoys all the love & attention that she gets from Zaroon, she also dreads that love would only cause her pain. She fears if Zaroon too would turn out to be the disappointing man that her father was.

Ofcourse Bela is very very different from Kashaf but she's no less in awe of her man ;) She did easily ask that why can't he just leave her or change his priorities but for real Mahir forgetting her is unimaginable/intolerable for her.

PS: I wanted to give this post a better, more conclusive end. My apologies I couldn't do so.

For some reason I think bela can't comprehend that Mahir exactly what he shows himself to be like accha insan without any hidden intentions. His love is pure and comes with no restrictions or conditions. She has been betrayed by very people she loved and considered her life and family. Her being little skeptical is understandable. But she knows he will help her and believe her. However, he isn't aware of her most important truth which has potential to destroy everything once again that she calls her. I think this one of the reason for her being less expressive about her love and emotions towards Mahir.

These are few questions that are making bela hesitant:
Will he hate her after finding out that she solely came in their lives to destroy them. She married him to fulfil her revenge. She ordered and killed people who he considered like family. Also, tried to kill him multiple times.

In her point of view, all these are just talks because he isn't aware of her truth and consider her to be BELA SHARMA. He will follow up on those words for bela but will he do same when he comes to know about RUHI? This will be real test of his words,promises, and actual character.

Coming to priorities: Bela is naagrani and I believe she will always keep safety and security of naaglok above all. She even got along with ViVi to protect naaglok from vultures. I would like to see what would she do if she has to choose between Mahir and naaglok/naagmani? She has already once chosen to save naagmani over Mahir but at the time she didn't know Mahir was innocent but now she knows

You guys have penned it beautifully and so damn well!

@Nikki: I believe she is still unable to process the fact that a love like Mahir's can exist. Whenever there is a chance to walk away or turn his back on her, she expects the worst consequences, but he surprises her by showing her the best version of him, which seems to be an endless pool of giving from his side and taking her & whole-heartedly accepting her in her worst possible forms - a cheat, liar, one who constantly hurts him etc So she is baffled, her heart yearns this and celebrates this everytime he choses ' not to leave her'.

It's an all defying love. She puts it to hesitant tests at times like this. Even before she asked him those questions, he has passed her test this time too but as I said, her heart yearns n celebrates this love, so she shows him a door again to walk away, but he refuses it and in words of such earnestness that it still surprises her to hear what she already knows. You know the emotion and can anticipate it's arrival, but when it comes with such sincerity and purity, which you thought no longer exists in the world, you react to it , not just mentally but physically too at it... you see how Bela takes in a breath at his words, lowers her head n then looks back at him again... it's the physical impact of those words. She is shook... from her core. Uske goosebumps aa gaye...

It also gives her a chance to hope. Everytime he refuses to leave, she depends emotionally a little more on him. She has told him after the accident that ' she would not live, if anything happened to him' , she has reached that point long ago but her skeptical nature still proded her to guard her heart... she is ready to give her life for him, but still won't let him take complete control of her emotions... that hurts her more than dying. She is scared, that there are truths that can still make him walk away from her. Truths are powerful and she is in the wrong in this relationship now, so she is afraid of those truths.

That's why after his confession, she was able to open up a little more in telling him that he is her strength n only he could make things alright in her life, like he had ever since he entered it. He had started healing her... bringing her back all the precious things she thought she lost - not just people but in terms of emotions too.

And there is simply this cute little fact that Bela is unaware of such depths of emotions. She is exploring it the first time with him and through him, not just his but her's too.

We know Mahir's clearcut. Their family n even villains know. Bela's we've got to see. We know it's a force to reckon with like Mahir's but it never got to take limelight like Mahir's has...yet. Let's see how she surprises Mahir n us... It's given that if he surprises her time n again, she too would... ek jaise hai in that... :D

@Kom : Choice b/w Naagmani and Mahir - For now, she actually thinks being a Naagrani would aid her in protecting Mahir despite knowing that the very fact could be reason to lose him. If I can protect my vansh, I can protect my love - she said. She doesn't think that choice would arise, because he'd take her with that truth too " Har cheez apna lenge? ".

Being Queen is her job just like running Sehgal empire is his. When worker's life was in threat he ran leaving mandap, she would do same. If it comes to giving it all up to live a normal life with him, I would like to see what she choses too.

( I want her to have both... but would like to see her choice if it is presented without any external pressures or threats)

All of you have explained this so well.

Bela has this fear of losing him. Whenever she sees the depth of his love, she fears what if he doesn't accept her truth. So she keeps asking such questions if the priorities can change or why he loves her so much. She wants to know if he can love her to the extent of accepting her truth and the death of his family members. It is getting more difficult for Bela with every passing day, as she is lying more and more to him. She wants that reassurance that he will not leave her after knowing the truth. Surbhi is doing a fab job in showing that helplessness in her eyes.

The mention of Zindagi Gulzaar Hai. I have listened to few monologues of Zindagi Gulzaar Hain. They are so beautiful and perfectly fits Behir situation. Kashaf couldn't believe how lucky she was to get Zaroon. She couldn't believe how good he was.
