It will be so satisfying to see Mahirji's expressions on those lyrics.

Our mind tends to remember only hurtful words/negative scenarios when we are troubled or heartbroken. It overshadows all the good things said or nice things done. Same thing happened with Mahirji in that scenario. Near future I do hope bela tells him something to contradict that past statement, bela may not deliver emotional statements like him but she is known to give deep and meaningful one liners.

I think they are intentionally withholding that information.
If not I would like to know if Mahirji is the first man in her life to leave such an impression. I always assumed because of her missing father, she never can easily accept help or chivalry from Mahirji andobviously she didn't experience that with vik.
She is not used to being taken care of.
