The timeline is a little mixed for my convenience for the story.
“Thank you Dev ji for putting my parents above everything. I know how important the talk was for you”, says Vidhi with tears in her eyes.
Dev, smiles and pulls her closer, “we are nothing if we don’t stand up for our family. You do the same day in day out for us here.”
Vidhi insists on Dev taking a shower to feel better, which Dev obliges. Vidhi goes to check on everyone one, before heading to her room back, she goes to Satyavathi’s room.
Satyavathi and Vidhi discuss about the talk which Vidhi gave and the appreciation she received for it. She asks Vidhi, if she checked on Dev, if he is doing fine, as it is not a regular thing for him to fight and hit people . Satyavathi rushes Vidhi out of the room to help Dev with anything he might need.
When Vidhi enters their room notices, Dev about put on a Tshirt for the night. She notices a few black and red spots on his back and arms. She immediately rushes towards Dev and touches his back, taking Dev by surprise, because they have not been that close ever. Dev, winces in pain when she touches a few spots. Vidhi makes Dev sit on the bed and gets him a tablet and applies balm to reduce the pain.
Vidhi gets annoyed with her parents saying “what is the point of this false pride? They didn’t even think we are a part of their family. Look how bad you are hurt. I can’t see you like this”
Dev trying to lighten up the mood, “ Tum mujhe bilkul aise dekh sakti ho, Tumhe haq hai, ye alag baat hai ki Tum sab ke haq ke liye ladogi apni khud ki nahi”
Vidhi shyly “aap pehle theek ho jayiye, hum baat karenge is baare mein”.
Dev laughs, “tum toh baat karne ki baat mat Karna, kyunki Tum sab kuch chupati ho, uske baad reasoning yeh deti ho ki sab kuch tumne humare bhalayi ke liye hi kiya tha. Tumhara intension pe kabhi doubt nahi tha aur nahi rahega Vidhi. Lekin, jab humne yeh shuruwat kiya tha Amba se sab kuch wapas lene ka plan, tab humne decide kiya na ki sab kuch saath mein karenge, phir bhi tum ne Balghar ke taxes ke baare mein chupaya. Main, Kaushik se baat karke arrange karsakta than a, tumhe sab kuch akele hi karna hai. I have accepted that you basically blindside me and do what you think is right, not just for me, but for the family as well. You take the decisions yourself, where is us in this? So let us not discuss about talking.”
Vidhi was numb hearing Dev state the facts and realizing what he must be feeling.
Dev continues, tumhe lag sakta hai, meri family ne foolishly sab kuch gawaya, but tum and your family hides everything. This is the truth. I am thankful for everything you are doing, but I do not agree with your way of doing things. Also, baat karna shuru karti ho toh rukne ka naam nahi leti ho yaar tum.”
Dev just pulls the shirt over his head hastily to put it on and yelps in pain, bringing Vidhi into the reality. She immediately rushes to Dev.
She holds Dev’s hands, “I am very very sorry Dev ji. I did not realize I have hurt you so much unknowingly. I don’t even know what to say.”
Dev, smiles and responds “I am sorry Vidhi. Mujhe aisa nahi bolna chahiye tha.” “nahi nahi, apne sahi Kiya mujhe bata diya ki main aap ko itni dard de rahi thi” says Vidhi.
“That doesn’t make what I said or the way I said correct” reiterates Dev.
They remain calm for a long time and settle down in bed on their respective sides.
After a few hours Dev is still unable to sleep, he turns towards Vidhi’s side and finds her sleeping. He pulls her close to him and makes her sleep on his shoulder and gets mad at himself for hurting her. But after too many thoughts, his mind and body give in and he doses off to sleep.
It was around 7am in the morning Vidhi wakes up first and finds herself in Dev’s arms. She doesn’t move but keeps thinking about all the things she had done without telling him also thinks about the Divya thing which Amba told her but she didn’t mention it to Dev. Her thought keeps circling around the words about having haq to see Dev without a shirt. She decides she needs to change a lot and prioritize Dev, before everyone else.
After sometime Dev wakes up to find Vidhi awake and still in his arms. “Good morning Vidhi, I am sorry about last night”, says Dev. Vidhi starts to feel guilty even more, but with a new sense of purpose to make things better between them, takes his free hand and places it on her waist, raises her face to match his and kisses him on his lips.
A very surprised Dev, slowly forgets thoughts about the night and kisses her back with more intensity than Vidhi. They take a break to catch a breath. This simple initiation from Vidhi was what Dev had been looking for from the time of their marriage to know she is ready to proceed.
He moves on top of her and starts kissing her lips even more passionately. Running his hands all over her body. He slowly pulls off his shirt with all care and looks at Vidhi’s eyes to look for her go ahead to undress her. With her head nod, he proceeds to removes her clothes. Vidhi makes every possible effort not to show her shyness in order not to disappoint Dev. He proceeds very slowly and make sweet tender love and fall back in to sleep.
They finally wake up around 9.30am with a knock on the door. Satyavathi knocks on the door as HP and Vimla had come to check on Dev.
Dev was the first one to hear the knock and tries to find his shirt, but doesn’t find it, he finds his pants, puts it on and opens the door after checking Vidhi is all covered. “Tumhare saas-sasur aaye hai, tumse milne, naha kar aajao.” Says Satyavathi and leaves immediately.
Vidhi who heard the conversation and is embarrassed that she overslept and her parents are here and she is still in the bed. Dev comes to the bed and calms Vidhi down. “jaldi se ready hoke bahar chalte hai. Zyada mat sochon, aur bas itna hi kehna ki Dev ko zyada dard hi raha tha aur woh so nahi paya der raat tak aur mera khayal rakhna rahi thi, humare make-up sex ke baare mein mention bhi mat karna.”
Vidhi nods her head and proceeds to take a bath and comes out quickly and goes to meet her parents and help Satyavathi with the food. Dev, also takes a quick shower and meets HP and Vimla.
“Ab aap kaise hai”, asks HP. Dev questioningly raise his eyebrows. “Vidhi ne bataya, ki aapko bahut chot lagi thi”, continues HP.
“Ab mein behtar feel kar raha hoon appli Beti ne bahut badiya ilaj Kiya Mera”, says Dev while looking Vidhi in her eyes. Vidhi lowers her eyes feeling shy.
After sometime HP and Vimla take leave And go to their home. Satyavathi, “Dev, ab sach mein tabiyat theek hai?”. “Haan maa, I am feeling a little better than yesterday, physically and emotionally bahut exposed and exhausted feel kar raha tha Kal, I am in a better place, thanks to Vidhi”, says Dev and goes to his room.
Satyavathi, “Vidhi aaj ka Ghar ka saath kaam mein dekhlungi, Tum bas Dev ka khayal rakhna, jao room mein aur Dekho usey koi bhi cheez ki zaroorat toh nahi hai”.
Vidhi, nods her head and goes into their room, Dev who was hiding behind the door, locks the door immediately after Vidhi enters and hugs her from her back.
“Mujhe instructions diya ki kisi se kuch nahi kehna, aur aap bol kya rahe the maa-papa ko aur mummyji ko,” questions Vidhi.
“pyar jata Raha tha”, says Dev while starting to kiss her on the nape of her neck and the rest is history.
