You know, try as they might to pretend otherwise, there is no denying that they have a profound affect on each other. If I were to do a spin-off of Kesar's "jahan mein kum hon ya ziada, magar hoon hamesha ghalat hi" dialogue, there's no doubt k irrespective of whether the affect is GOOD or BAD there IS an affect indeed. Mohan doesn't care a bit about what is being said and WHO likes what UNTIL Megha chirps in with her "Yellow". And then Mohan pauses and turns. Similarly nothing phases her more than when he talks about "office wali shanti" and how he loves his books, music and quiet. Of course while Mohan admires her and is intrigued by her, she's currently too embroiled in her bias towards him to feel anything other than her cynicism every time he says something. Currently she CANNOT allow herself to even CONSIDER him to be a good person - let alone being cordial with him. 😆
Cynicism...that's the word...you've described it beautifully ...she views every action, words of his with cynicism now...she doesn't trust him even a little bit...and yes, Kesar's example with that dialogue is very right too...ahh kaunsa scene yaad dilaa diya😍...one of my all time fav. GK confrontations😍...especially those hard hitting dialogues of Kesar's...man I miss that show...
Anyways, coming back to MM...exactly...MM's reactions are so contrasting and interesting and so far the build up is good *touchwood^infinity*...abhi actually unki reactions analyze karne ko dil karta hai...ahh I love feeling that about a show *touchwood again*😆
And I agree with what you said regarding Megha wanting inspiration...yes it does seem like she was a very dynamic personality back in college...not that she is really "dull" even now...but obviously age, responsibilities and circumstances have mellowed her relatively.
What I thought was that she had Amar up on such a pedestal...many times there have been references in the show also where she says, "Tum the toh I felt I could do anything"..."Today I felt you were with me toh sab achha ho gaya"...that kind of thing...Amar was/is her inspiration in life...he inspired her to do whatever she did...he was her hero...so that is why I found Megha's use of the word "uninspiring" for Mohan very telling cuz she can never put Mohan in that "hero" bracket...no matter how much good he does, no matter how much he helps, he's "aevein" in her dictionary...an almost deliberate effort to dismiss him too I'd say.
