What is wrong with them? Aren't they being paid to do their work carefully? A perfect example how to destroy a promising track and turn it into nothing.
Given the backdrop of the Show, i.e. dealing with female foeticide and infanticide, the present track could have done wonders, especially given the fact that Amba has indeed turned up to be Ammaji's own daughter. Ammaji had given her up after her birth and had of course nothing to do with her and didn't care whether the child lived or died. This is apparent from the fact that she doesn't even get a 0.1 % hint that they could be related in some way. Hence, Amba and her revenge from the Sanghwan clan, and especially against Ammaji stands tall against all odds.
But where is the track actually going? For the last few weeks,w e are all moving around circles - same things being repeated again and again with a listless presence. And the story has lost its grip altogether now.The CVs have actually managed to turn a high-voltage track into a mundane one.
And where's everybody? Since this track leads to such an important disclosure, it's very important to udnerstand the repercussions on all characters. We just have Jogi, Gaji and Avtaar doign excellent work in the kitchen, ably supported by Kateeli. But what about the others?
Kateeli is going through a difficult phase it seems - all this time she has been ordering everyone around and now she is all tired, angry and frustrated! Serves her right.
Raghav And Sia seems to be on forced paid leave - the two characters who should have been the most affected in this situation, barring Ammaji and Amba. SImply because, it's Raghav who is held captive by the dacoits and his life is in jeopardy. And Sia because it's her husband who is in danger. Given the fact that they had a tumultuous relationship to begin with, the pathos, empathy and passion between them should have been visible and palpable. Instead, we have characters who seem to have conveniently forgotten that they have spouses and that their stakes in this game is high.
There are so many characters in this Show, and they all can be used very interestingly. But the catch is that the interest level has to be maintained with some intelligent (at some level at least) story-telling and not bore everyone to slumber.
NAIDL has one of the best ensemble cast I feel, who can be used to used to perform effectively in varying types of tracks.
Hope to see such tracks in coming days.
And yes, given the kind of wrong-doings that Raghav has done in the past, his retribution is yet to happen. His monologues are not gonna help now, he has to deliver on them. He hasn't done a favour to Sia by accepting her as his wife, what he did to her and her family is actually unforgivable. Maybe Raghav should be told that charity always begins at home.
