Ok, Sang_hari( Shreya?) first of all thanks for your wonderful updates...you are the reason I log on religiously every afternoon and read these updates (lunch time actually). If you recommend it or if the update sounds must-watch, I then grab the videos....
I started watching this show as it appeared something different. I remember the promos...where an elderly man drops a girl child in a pot filled with milk and says "agle saal choraaaaaaa"... that drew me to the show....And the first few episodes were intriguing...I stopped watching the show when Raghav and Sia married in that temple and Ammaji came in to shoot everyone...But I have kept a track through these forums and I must say...you, poetic, sarah1024 and bittu are great analysts....
I even philosophically bore the Sonali track...and was super glad when Santosh revealed the truth (boy, what an episode)..But this latest track has me disgusted as many of you here. However may I present a different point of view? Here goes.....
Santosh...she wants a kid badly and since her husband cannot do it, she must look at alternatives, though why they have not heard of test-tube babies is beyond me....in one episode of the indecent proposal Ammaji says "ilaj hogaya bolenge (Jogi is cured)...so is IVF not a treatment as well?
Sia...Her idealism has vanished with her growing love for Raghav...let's be fair..she is a young woman...but no one told her to keep quite..when she can get the commissioner to come in when Avtaar was getting married to Rangeeli, what's stopping her now?
Raghav...His intense looks notwithstanding, he appears to be the weakest character in the show as he unquestioningly follows his mother....The creatives are gonna have to do some radical surgery to rescue his character.
Ammaji, first of all Meghna Malik...take a bow...what a wonderful actress....her POV is that she wants to protect her family's honor....if you look at Indian society...we guys do what is acceptable to the society in more instances than what we do for ourselves..her angst is understandable although her methods are immoral. How can she guarantee that ONS is enough for Santosh to get pregnant?
Among the rest of the cast, Santosh and Sheela chachi are worth mentioning...both are brilliant actors and their characters have grown with the serial although they now have an opportunity to actually shine...
So it all boils down to honor, pride and idealism...if the creatives can show these things without these unnecessary and disgusting ONS tracks....I think we can all rest easy...but may be if the track straightens out...we may not have anything to rant aboutš
