Round 4: Sonu Nigam

Passionate song!
A nice starting i must say, nice alaap by Sonu. The high-notes are excellently done, fiery with expression. The words are emphasized nicely, pronunciation is good.
The lady's singing is pleasant. "Hum Tumko Bhool Jaen Aasaan Nahin Hai" has been sung remarkably. The song is loaded with passion and aggression with the high-sounding beat.
However, being strict in my marking from now onwards, the high-notes are fantastic, but some-where something seems missing to me, it is a great song no doubt about it but some-how i feel that the Sonu magic is a little missing for me, or may be the song is too heavy to digest.
The singing is flawless, but somehow does not motivate me to give a perfect 10 to it. So, being strict from now, i will give it a 9 out of 10, because i want something more great from Sonu.

In terms of popularity, arguably one of the toughest songs of Sonu Nigam. He says about this song that it is such a difficult song that he usually refrains from singing this in concerts.

Here is one fact related to this song:

Sonu Nigam had recorded half of the song, but due to some reasons he had to leave India. Ismail Darbar in the meantime recorded the song with Hariharan but Ismail was not happy. According to him Hariharan could not provide the soul that he was looking for in the line "Tu Mujhko Mil Gaya".
Eventually Sonu Nigam came back and recorded the song. 😊

Superb singing by Sonu Nigam!

I agree with Brahmabul, this song is indeed very difficult. And Sonu Nigam, like usual, does a fantastic job singing it! This song requires a lot of feel and there are a lot of different types of beats you have to sing to. And there was very high portions in this song. Required you to go quite high. And there, Sonu just does an amazing job! I mean, he sang this very difficult song flawless. You can't ask for any more than that. Arguably the best competition in this whole competition

Wah wah wah! What a composition - tune, arrangements, orchestration are all excellent! Bringing in influences from Western classical, pop, Middle Eastern and an Indian flavour, DARBAR saab has made an outstanding song.

One of the songs of Udit ji which didn't get its due, 'Woh Chand Jaisi Ladki'.

I have to say 1 thing, this competition has made me add a lot of new songs to my Ipod. This is definitely one of them. What a great composition and singing done by Sonu Nigam here!
