I know what you mean, but the song was meant to be sung that way. That sort of bit repressed voice suits the lyrics and what the song is trying to say. It's supposed to have a magical feel to it.

The best I've heard from Shreya Ghosal so far. And probably the best I've heard in this competition so far. This song and singing was truly magical as I said a little earlier. She also shows more maturity in this performance early in her career, as opposed to the 1st 2 she had from Devdas and Zehar. This time she is singing with the lyrics, the way it should be sung, and makes this song touching through her voice. She did all the challenging parts perfect, high pitches, and everything. As I said, probably the best I've heard so far. So once again I was in the middle between a 9 and 10. But this time, I really can't think of anything negative, she had the magical voice, the perfect feel for the song, and sung every part well. So this will be my 1st 10. I want to say today she would have sung this song even better, but that doesn't really keep it from getting it a 10, because even her voice back then was better than anyone else's. So I can't take points away from not having as good of a voice quality as today, because it was still better than anyone else's voice.

Excellent tune and music by M M Kreem. I agree with Himess that it is a very mature performance and this is one of the few songs from her early career in which her voice quality fits perfectly. Apart from a few places where the voice is a bit too girlish, the song is perfectly sung.

Unfortunately I don't think there were enough challenges in this song to warrant a full ten on ten from me. So just like Alkaji's 'Mere Humsafar Mere Humsafar', Alisha's 'Tinka Tinka' and Mahalaxmi's 'Bol Na Halke Halke', this is in the nine league for me.

I completely understand - this performance doesn't jump out of the speakers and boast of exceptional singing. I too had a tough time weighing up its merits objectively - I would be very interested in knowing what you thought of my analysis.

I just read your comments on the other singers and you've raised some very good points in a clear fashion. Look forward to your comment and rating for Shreya.
