Remakes continue to be the flavour of the season. This time it's the 1991-superhit Aamir Khan-Pooja Bhatt starrer, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin. Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt who co-produced the film with T-Series, 17 years ago are set to remake it with Himesh Reshammiya in the lead. While Mahesh Bhatt was the director of the original Dil… his daughter Pooja Bhatt will direct the remake.

Interestingly, it was Himesh Reshammiya who suggested the idea to the Bhatts. The Bhatts were excited about it. Says an insider, "Why not? After all, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was good money-grosser."

When contacted, Mahesh confirmed that he was indeed planning a remake of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin but was unwilling to give more details. He said, "I cannot elaborate now. It's too early to talk about it."

However, when we asked him to explain why Himesh was roped in to play the lead, Mahesh quipped, "Well, he doesn't have to be Aamir Khan to get into the remake. We have worked with him in Kajra Re (which Pooja is now directing for T-Series) and he is a fine actor."

So what are the similarities and dissimilarities with the original film? A major dissimilarity between the two films is the characterisation of the hero. Our source reveals, "Himesh is not slated to play the same character as Aamir's in the film. He will play a smart journalist."

Considering the fact that Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was not solely produced by Vishesh films, will redoing the film pose a major hurdle? Our source says, "That matter can be sorted out amicably. Anyway, Bhatts do not intend to make an absolute replica of the earlier film. They will be simply upgrading the original version. Besides, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin itself was not an original film; it was a modified version of It Happened One Night."

Shagufta Rafique who wrote Woh Lamhe, Awarapan and Dhoka will write the film. She says, "I don't know when exactly I'll start on this, but it is going to be a very challenging job for me."

Coming back on the movie front, while Karzzzz is all set to arrive in the month of October, the music (which is carrying tremendous reports) is expected to be out on stands towards late August

That's what Himesh Reshammiya, the indomitable spirit of the Entertainment Industry as well as Zee TV's Sa re ga ma pa did. The man who has been the talk of the town for his Chinese hair cut and wagging tongue recently proclaimed his idea of re-launching his father on the show, which was dedicated to him. Like always, Himesh had invited his dad on the sets as a special guest where in front of the entire world a sensitive Himesh narrated how his dad had sacrificed his career for him. Apparently, Himesh's father, Vipin Reshammiya has been the backbone behind his success. He decided to take a backseat and shape his son's career instead. And today Himesh Reshammiya is a brand to reckon with in the music industry.

Himesh feels that now it was his turn to give back to his father what he very well deserved. Himesh made a promise to the world that he will re- launch his dad and fulfill his unaccomplished dream. He'll make a movie wherein he'll be the actor (of course who else??) and his pappa dearest will score the music for the same. Speakes volumes about this dedicated son na….
