From singing to acting Qazi Touqeer

Remember Qazi Touqeer the winner of Fame Gurukul show on Sony, is back after two years. No he is not coming up with the new album but a film. "I have signed a film with Nazi Reziv and will start shooting very soon," says Qazi.

As per Qazi the shooting will start after 15 days and they are planning to release the film somewhere around October. "It will be too early to reveal anything about the film," quotes the leading hero. He will be sharing screen with Rajpal Yadav and some new-comers. "I always wanted to act and Fame Gurukul has given me the platform," Qazi declares it excitingly. As per Qazi it's an action packed thriller which he is planning to declare on Indian Idol if he gets the permit.

After coming up with infamous album titled Qazi, Ruprekha-Jodi No.1 both disappeared from the limelight for a very long time. "I was locked up by some fraud people so was away from the limelight," explain Touqeer. "I got offer from Danish Khan to act in films and he told me to wait. But later I realised that they all tried to lock me up as they were jealous with my fame," speaks Qazi. Not many people know that before finalising Iqbal Khan, Qazi was offered a main lead in Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai by Ekta. "I refused to it as I was keen to act in movies."

Another singer turned actor. Isn't Qazi following the same route of Sonu Nigam and Himesh Reshmiya? When asked about this he says "I don't think so. I was always interested in acting. Fame gurukul was shortcut to enter this industry. Now I want critic to say that Qazi is good actor." He has worked up on his dialogue delivery and has also toned his muscles.

Many of our singers failed to make their mark as actor. So will Qazi be successful? Will audience accept him after his disappearing act? In answer to that Qazi says, "Expect the unexpected." "30 seconds are enough to decide for the audience whether they want to watch the film or no. I have got the X factor and I'm sure that audience would love to see me again on screen after long time," he adds further.
