I would not go into rest but surely touch upon these two. No idea how much these reality shows are good source to encourage but yes now a days its surely turning into a good source to get these MD's lot of their d(u)e-fame and Name both. U just need to watch all starting from Adesh, Ismail, Bappida, Himesh... all.

How much does a role music Director play, in a making or success of a song?
I think it is a team work. MD simgers, musicians. lyricist all are eqally responsible and important to make it a success. MD is a part of that big team and yes he plays important part.

Do MD's really make singers?
At least they give them a chance and train them So I would say yes. Like ismail darbar made debojit and reshmiya helped vinit.

When a song is a hit, why is it the singer who gets more glory than the music director?
because music director work behind the screen. But we still praise music .Actually credt should go to the whole team.

surely .if they did not then we would not appreciate all those wonderful MD's

We do see them now and then on reality show singing. actually many of them sing songs Like anu malikji, Bhappida, Reshmiya, RD burman, anand raj ananad to name a few. yes they should sing.

Dont know about the rest of the population but the Ifians are richer in knowledge when it comes to information on Music Directors, ever since Retro cafe started. Every week there is a new theme and many episodes touch upon the music directors and their direct contribution....

So names which were unknown until last year are not totally unknown names now.May be many wont be aware of each ones contribution fully, but atleast now thanks to Retro Cafe, one can correlate a song to a composer or a lyricist or an actor etc.

It is the song that makes a singer. Who creates the song? the composer. The singer is just the medium to bring it to us. So yes, they have a very big contribution in making a singer,.

Well..i think MD has a major role to play as he iz d one who actually composes d music..he not only makes the song hummable but also tells d singer how to sing a particular song.

To some extent yes..they do..but the singer too uses his creativity, imagination n experience in singing a song.

Itz d singer coz wid his/her voice the audience can actually relate the song too...generally it is said that a particular song was that Singer's.

Yes..definitely..it was only after really shows that many ppl came to know who an MD is.

A Music Director plays a huge role in the making of the song. In the success of the song though, a lot of other areas are involved. But making of the song definitely rests on the director's shoulders.

No. I don't think they "make" singers. They can not be made. MDs definetely create the song and the singers just sing it, but without a good singer, a MD has no value either. So, they complement each other. One is not above the other.

Well, that's similar to Aamir getting all recognition for Lagaan and Ashutosh Gowarikar was heard about only at award functions. That's usual since te actor is the one that everyone actually sees. There are not many cases when directors get as much fame as singers/actors.

The reality shows are for singers. I don't see any competition selecting music directors. It just opens doorsto budding singers ana making Anu Malik and Ismail Darbar as judges doesn't bring anything to the other hard-working souls.

I wouldn't term that as show off. But yes, if they wish to be recognized, they should sing. They should definitely sing. AR Rahman definitely became more famous after he started singing and I am quite sure that this will work with other MDs as well.

Yes they do. Some of them can turn out to be good singers bec its talent what counts.

Because he is the one appearing infront of the audience. He is the one who is giving the voice. People dont give a second thought to who made the song. Sometimes even the singers dunt get a notice bec its the actor dat appears infront of them. For example dhoom 2 is a hit song but we only give hritikh the credit for it. Even through he neither sang nor composed it.

They are getting it more then before. Maybe a few years back v didnt even know that the MD are there but today v knoe the names of so many. So yes, they are growing.

In a way. For example v didnt knew who Anu Malik was before Indian Idol even through we loved his songs.

No. Because making the music is their talent. If they are good singers and can do it, they shud defintly go ahead, but not just to be noticed.😳
