Hello everyone!

As you all know, Dec 24, will mark the 100th birth anniversary of inarguably the most influential and revered singer in the Hindi Film Industry: Mohammed Rafi.

These polls are in his memory and for us to remember the legacy of songs he left us.

There will be 10 polls with 10 songs each totaling a 100 songs.

There will then be a 11th poll with the winners of each of these polls to decide the overall winner.

Poll #10 : Rafi's duets with Asha Bhosle, Suman Kalyanpur & Shamshad Begum

Now making the duet polls was really tough so I had to set some criteria. I went with the female singers that had sung the maximum songs with him, which are Asha and then Lata. I did not want to pit them against each other because they have the best ones, so put them in different polls and picked 6 songs with each of them. The next most duets are with Geeta Dutt and Suman Kalyanpur so separated them too and picked 3 songs each. Then came the rarest: I went with Mubarak Begum and Shamshad Begum because a) I feel these singers are largely forgotten and need some love and b) I love the two songs I picked.

I'm aware these are just skimming the surface of Rafi's vast repertoire, but I had to limit it to 10 so some of them are the popular songs, some are my choices and some are songs that I think most people enjoy. If you don't find your favorite here, please don't be disappointed. It's impossible to make polls with such limited choices for Rafi. But do vote for one in the list and share your favorite in the thread.

Along with the polls, I have wanted to do my own tribute to the man, so I have sung the first few lines (mukhda) of each of these songs and will be posting them below each poll.

My apologies if the recording quality is not great - I don't own any fancy equipment and my voice was faltering a bit too off late. But it's earnest, heartfelt and my humble appreciation for a singer I admire greatly.
