Says model-turned-actor Deepika Padukone as she readies to act opposite SRK and Abhishek Bachchan!

Deepika Padukone is being touted as the next big thing in Bollywood and given the projects she has in hand, you can't doubt it either. Having bagged roles with leading filmmakers like Farah Khan, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Priyadarshan, the lady has come a long way.

Deepika, remembered most for her act in Himesh Reshammiya's music video Aapka Suroor, is all set to make her debut opposite King Khan in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om.

And with the cast of the movie including such big names as Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Zayed Khan, even before you begin to question her, she promptly admits, "I'm quite nervous."But she makes it clear, "I'm not intimidated, only nervous."Point taken!

But while the thought of sharing the frame with SRK gives her jitters, bagging the offer, it seems, was one easy job for the girl.

"I've been into modelling for over two years now, with Himesh's music video happening at the right time for me. That video got me the required attention and made me popular with one and all. It was just then that Farah Khan who was looking for a new face to cast opposite Shah Rukh, noticed me and offered me the role."

And the lady indeed makes it sound like smooth sailing! Not only this. Though the actor chooses to stay mum on the topic, she also has to her credit signing big movies like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6, where she will be seen opposite Abhishek Bach-chan and Priyadarshan's Pirate.

Ask the daughter of former world badminton champion Prakash Padukone if glamour was easy to pursue than badminton and she quickly takes up, "But I always wanted to be a part of the glamour industry."

And for those who probably thought her dad's popularity and name brought her so far, Deepika wants to make it quite clear, "It's all my hard work. Half the people in the industry don't even know who my dad is. Moreover, he's from just too different a line to influence my career in Bollywood in any way."We agree.

But given the different line that she chose from her dad's, was there never any opposition from the family? "Never. My dad and family knew of my eagerness to be a part of the glamour industry so they just encouraged and supported me all along."

Alright, so as she gives a big nod to Bollywood, we wonder how much is the lady ready to accept the politics of skin show, which as we know comes with the package of being an actor.

And sounding as politically correct, she states, "It all depends on the character that I'm playing. But still, it would never exceed the limit where I'd have to feel embarrassed watching my movie with my family."

With Om Shanti Om slated to hit the floor next year, the shooting will begin in December. Deepika meanwhile, is busy brushing up her dancing talent.

"I'm trained in Bharatnatyam, while these days I'm learning Kathak too."And acting? "Yes, I also did a three-month acting course from Anupam Kher's acting institute."Now that's called working out on every front!

Why do you consider yourself as HR's no 01 Diwani? - Kyunki I have stood by him when the whole world was practically shouting at me that "he is no good" & I know the truth of music lies w/him only 😳

I am not-so-familiar with Himesh though i love his songs so can u tell me 3 things abt Himest that i might not know? 😳 - Ok sis well 1) his father was the main keyboardist for Laximkant-Pyarelal 2) Himeshji use to produce tv serials for Zee tv when he was only 16 3) He recently won an IIFA award for aashiq banaya aapne 😳

Okay, I love HR but I'm not very familiar with him, like his biography and stuff and I just read that he has a son! I totally did NOT know that! - read his biography on my site...its written by myself n my friend sunny...i believe its 90% correct

Was he married before?! - He has been married...we just don't know if they are together or not 😭How old is his son?! I assume his son would be 6 years old...we worked this out in part 1 of the fanclub How old is HR?! Only like 30 or 31 right?! 😕 😳 - he maybe 33 - im still not convinced that he is born in 1973 lekin thats what zee cinema said...
