Producer: Anjum Rizvi Director: Shivam Nair Cast: Soha Ali Khan, Abhay Deol, Shyan Munshi Music: Himesh Reshammiya Lyrics: Irhsad Kamil 'Ahista Ahista' is a movie starring Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan. Himesh Reshammiya, the man with maximum number of musical hits, scores the music. This time for a change Sameer does not feature in Himesh's musical outing. Irhsad Kamil comes in his place. This Shivam Nair directorial debut has eight songs and seven remixes. Out of the eight Himesh croons five. The album starts with the voice of Himesh Reshammiya crooning the title track of the movie 'Ahista Ahista'. This love song starts in a low note and gathers momentum on its way to finale. The intermittent use of guitar adds style to this track. Himesh's musical arrangement needs a mention here. He ingenuously blends the Pakistani and western musical styles. This song is not an inspired composition and is original and trendy. The remixed version of this song takes you by surprise. Akbar Sami gives a new look and feel to this song. 'Allah Kare' is another outstanding musical piece from Himesh Reshammiya. This is an invocative track in Sufi style of music. Reshammiya adds western beats to this Sufi track and the result is a marvelous musical experience. The feel of this rhythmic track is enhanced by the use of tabla. Himesh Reshammiya the singer is excellent in this song. His stress on the word 'Allah Kare' gives the song an extra punch. A must listen! Akbar Sami turns this Sufi track to a dance number with ease. Hats off to this king of remix. Next song 'Love You Unconditionally' brings a new Himesh Reshammiya to the fore. This song is both yuppie and soothing. Himesh Reshammiya's high- pitched rendition adds zing to this track. It turns a peppy dance track at the hands of Akbar Sami. More than the original, the remixed version will heat up the musical charts. After three consecutive tracks Himesh hands over the mike to KK. He makes the most out of the chance thrown at him. 'Ishq Ne Tere' is a song in Sufiana andaz. Jayesh Gandhi joins KK in the rendition of the song. Himesh's unique musical arrangement gives this song a qawali touch, but its style differs from that of qawali. This is certainly an entertaining track. The remix stays close to the original in feel and mood. But it takes the song a step further. Now it is the turn of a duet. Sunidhi teams up with KK for the love track 'Tanha Tere Bagair'. In feel it comes close to the song 'Love You Unconditionally'. Flute plays a major part as the background musical arrangement. It gives a certain folk feel to the song. This is a soft and simple track. When you change a soft and melodious song to a dance number it loses its originality. This is what happens with the Akbar Sami version of the song 'Tanha Tere Bagair'. The song loses its sweetness at the hands of Akbar Sami. 'Aawan Akhiyan Jawan Akhiyan' is a pure and authentic qawali number. Himesh Reshammiya comes behind the mike once again. This time Jayesh Gandhi, Hashim and Aftab give him company. Irhsad Kamil comes up with a poetical beauty. Nice lyrics, good music and a perfect rendition make this song a great track. The next romantic track 'Tum Jo Mile' is in the voice of Kunal Ganjanwala. This soft 'n' sweet track has a simple and catchy rhythm. Kunal Ganjanwala's hearty rendition draws you towards the song. It is one of the best tracks in this album. Himesh Reshammiya gives this album a grand finale with an unplugged version of the song 'Allah Kare'. He croons this song with virtually no musical instruments in the background. All together this album is a gem and another good addition to the success flare of Himesh. |
