Please excuse my digression but do you think that Sid's character hold the keys to TRP. This is the first time I am watching MS onscreen and he seems to me just like any other actor. IMO, there is a dichotomy between IF and real McCoys or the aunty ji viewers who make up the TRPs.There is no great shakes romance there but high drama involving emotional atyachaar, parivaar ke khushi ke liye kuchh bhi karoongi type of leads and a vamp from hell. Look at its TRP.

I still feel that G2 alliance could have seen a rise in numbers. It is a total cliche based formula but unholy alliances works for Indian tellies. Somehow most of the audiences want the female lead to fight against all odds and come up as a victor.

I know it is horribly abused tactics but love blossoming between two unmatched individuals still gather eyeballs.

PS: Gauri will not go missing (that was just an advertising gimmick) but soon we may have Khamoshiyaan going missing.

Mili I think that the power of one here would not reach the cut of the magical numbers...I was rather disappointed with the first meeting of the trio on the dusty road.. It was good but somehow lacked a punch hence going by that experience for me the weight has to be divided between the leads for stabillity of the series. U know another disconnect is the non happening of kidnapping because that was what generated a lot of interest but the story was is no where near it... Viewers must have felt disappointed because expectations didnot match the reality which unfolded in front of them.

Most series lack good representation of romance hence they bank on the sacrifice of the daughter and bahu but there have been exceptions to the rule too.. so the bottom line of linearity of online and trp viewers is a well told and executed story. We have an ok pair for romance now the story needs to follow one direction and proceed on that with a pace...We have more than1 thread now... Gauri's marraige, mother's reentry to normal life, coming up rift between 2 mothers, revenge of Garv ,Appa Asavri trying to oust Gauri, Sumitra's story... They need to streamline it or else to many ingredients will lead to loss of the flavor that was intended.

I am not sure as I mentioned if a hasty wedding will help the trp's because how do u get Garv and Gauri married without a good build up? And post that what? Appa will throw them off bhonsle vadi because he will have a good reason logically speaking .Besides I am not convinced Garv can pull the series on his shoulders alone yet.😳

The answer lies to get Gauriji kidnapped and bombard the promo that it is finally happening, it should get numbers because that was what gave a trp of 4 in the first place.. The USP of the show is suspense so they need to play on that... And get Garv and Sid equally involved and then decide whom to tilt Gauri too...
P.S. we are not allowed to discuss other series with names please edit the name of the serial u mentioned.I hope u understand.🤗

Koel so brilliantly written and I totally agree with you, only a missing Gauri can save the show.

@Koel. Did It.😉

It would be fun to know what was there on the Cvs mind when they conceived of this show. Poor things.
Somehow if SP goes on dismissing its own shows then its a loss of face for them. a show has to be nurtured and given at least six months before being taken off.

Honestly for me all the characters work but what made the show a bit dull was its sluggish pace and excessive use of Marathi dialogues. I swear I am not being parochial but to establish a show it should be pan Indian in its appeal. The ambience, the festivals and the setting can be regional but communication should be generic.

80 % of serial viewers are housewives.

That group alone influences the TRP.

They never want the protagonist pair to be undermined.

They are very protective of the protagonists in their mind.

The negatives are getting more importance.

Here Sid-Gauri are a small show piece in a vast Landscape.

How much screen space are they getting ?

Too many loose ends. No attempts to tie them up.

If some interesting is shown in promo and not in actual story,

that will be suicidal.

The viewers will feel themselves cheated.

The result is supposed to be disastrous.

mili I have an honest confession to make I didnot mind the use of Marathi dialogues ...though I am a non Marathi viewer stil I didnot have much problem getting the jist of the dialogues.😛 since I get an overdose of punjabi songs anddialogues in serials I am seasoned towards it. the show might be in the scanner but I highly doubt the channel wants 3+ trp in three weeks... It is impossible to manage that for any series... If the series has an upward trend in trp for three weeks they should promote it more for reaching the magical number 3. The channel has to promote it's product. all of their new ventures have not been highly successful so will pulling a plug so soon for all be the answer ..I don't think so rather they should work on it in at a war footing to turn it back from the red zone. I second what u said on the loss of face and nurturing aspect.

We need the crystal ball and an abracadabra spell to peek into what goes in the minds of the creatives...so we would know when to tune in and off...😆

interesting highlights adding my thoughts the 7.30 slot is not a dinner time viewrather one where dinner gets its finishing touches... Hence when u catch a series in between ur work u want a simple and a straight storyline which u don't loose track of..😉besides housewives are very annoyed when the product doesnot match what with what was told as u said.On lead pairs they love them when there is a fight to uphold something from both sides...things which come easy is not valued much hence leads have to go through trial by fire... I remember an interesting case study which I read about Vicks -the advt of the product was not popular and research on it revealed that the targeted audience didn't like the well dressed mother caring for a sick child... So the mother's appearance got a makeover to a little disheveled state to represent how worried she is and that her looks at that point was secondary...

without doubt more screen space for the male and female lead interactions..

I may b wrong but for silence to get trp is not that diff in 7. 30 slot...They can make it 😳. It's not impossible they can get the trp... But they must be consistent n tell the story not promote something n tell something... U see as a viewer I dunno what is the story ATM... A daughter struggle... A lover struggle... Vamp struggle... Policition struggle... Appa saheb struggle... One thing is sure viewers are struggling 😆
