THE LUCKY 13 AKA THE ROADIES

They're off! Finally! After seemingly endless auditions, the lucky 13 aka The Roadies finally get to do what they've been waiting for; hit the road. A long bus ride, (Jodhpur to Jaisalmer) no cell phones, no cash and the Roadies barely knew what they had gotten into.

After a night of local entertainment amidst some fine cuisine the Roadies hit the shack eagerly awaiting their first task. They woke up next morning expecting their bikes, they found none. Instead they got Camels and a compass! Camels? What ever happened to the bikes?

The journey had begun; their first task- Split into two teams, pink and green turbans, camels and helmets all spread out over large sand dunes in the desert. The winning team gets immunity too. So which team wins? That's anybody's guess; what with one team accused of cheating and a possible disqualification. Wait there's more! Frantic phone calls, a potential elimination, lots of flirting especially at the hotel pool. (Those swim suit clad chicks are cute, man; hell I'd flirt with 'em too) and finally badabing badaboom, a vote out! An ugly one at that. One member gets voted out every week, remember!

So who gets voted out? Who comes close? Again what's with the Camels? Which team wins? What about that disqualification? And can someone please tell me who's hooking up with whom? Watch the show! The Roadies! Monday Sept 19th at 7:00 pm, only on MTV.

ROADIES3: THE FLAG OFF ROADIES3: THE FLAG OFF


Complications with Priyanka and her family, a near disqualification, a vote out in the first episode, and the Roadies didn't even get to ride their bikes. Ooh that's tough! Well it gets tougher.

Beginning at Jaisalmer under their new captain Shubi, the remaining 12 Roadies get a move on things. A special surprise guest joins them at the start just to wish them good luck and a safe trip.

The first leg: Jaisalmer to Phalodi and our Roadies find the going really tough. Several stops were made en route for much needed water breaks. (Bahut garmi thi yaar!) Finally after a long day's ride they make it to Phalodi, their stop for the night.

12 cots lying next to each other await our infamous 12 as they spend the next few hours doing a lot of faltu timepass. Oh and check out Krishnesh flirting with Meher; a proposal too.

The next morning they ride to Bikaner and then an additional detour to Dashnouk, Karni Mata temple for their next task. This one's got a sum of 25000 bucks as bait and involves sleeping with rats for an entire hour, that's 5 minutes per Roadie. One of the members has an extremely hard time which leads to a lot of infighting, backbiting, arguing and betrayal amongst the group members all culminating into one bad fight. We promised you lots of masala, remember!

So after an indifferent night of sorts, the Roadies perform their next task for immunity. They're divided into two teams- Bhujiya and Namkeen, (each having their own haath gaadi.) and had an hour to sell as much farsan as they could.

At the end of it all a tired group of bikers trudge their way back to the hotel only to be greeted by their second vote out. So who wins the immunity task? Bhujiya or Namkeen? What about the 25000? Did they win it? Who has a bad fight? Who bitches behind whose back? Who gets voted out? And who's that special guest? Catch Roadies 3 on Mondays at 7:00 pm to find out.

ROADIES 3 THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

Two down and still a long way to go. The Roadies are on their way again and this time it's a long ride from Biakner to their next destination Churu, a good 170 km away. Churu incidentally happens to be the hottest city on India so that should be fun. Hot, tired and weary the Roadies, under their new captain AJ are off once again.

They stop for their next task some 25 km before Churu in a small place called Sehla. A dirty pool of water (floating with dead fish), buckets with holes and some large containers which happen to be a fair distance from the pool constitute the next task. This one is for money (Every 10 litres fetches Rs 1000) and the Roadies had to fill the containers with water from the pool, all to be transported in those broken buckets. Needless to say the Roadies find the task at hand quite tough.

Task completed, filthy, stinky (that water is nasty) and dreary, they make their way to Churu expecting a nice shower and some relaxation. Instead they were each given bars of soap, what no laundry? Exhausted from all this washing a pooped bunch of bikers hit the sack.

Next morning we find our Roadies at the Zila stadium in Churu and some rather weird paraphernalia lying around. Yup! It's time for their next task and this one is for immunity wherein only the winner gets immunity. It's every man for himself on this one. Each roadie has to drink a shot of this gross concoction which contains garlic, chilli, turmeric, eggs, green chilli, dantmanjan and more. After each shot he or she must sprint to the wall, tap it, head back then have another shot and continue to do as many as he or she can for the next five minutes. Oh and I almost forgot, all this has to be done while being clothed in layers and layers of sweaters, like it wasn't hot already!

So how much money do the Roadies win? Who wins immunity? Who gets voted out? Does the immunity affect the vote out? Have politics started in the group? Oh and there's also some major flirting between Rahul and….Catch the Roadies, Monday 7:00pm, only on MTV.

Bees, Dakus, Nagins, Accidents and Goondas
They're down to 10 at the moment and the journey keeps getting harder. This leg is from Churu to Hissar and our now familiar faces, under their new captain, Stuti continue their journey. Things aren't that smooth amongst the Roadies and it has nothing to do with their riding. Politics, backbiting and opinions have made their way into out tightly woven bunch and all is not that rosy anymore.

A long day's ride and the roadies arrive at Hissar. The lush greenery aptly supported by a beautiful lake adjacent to the hotel make this a really pretty place and a welcome change from the overbearing heat of Churu. Amitinder and Shubendru even enjoy a shower under a makeshift waterfall.

Rahul and Priyanka continue to flirt and are commonly referred to as the couple in the group which doesn't really seem to bother either of them. Soon their first game is announced; 'Javab ka Savaal Nahin.' Each roadie can put forth a question to his or her colleagues only the questioner remains anonymous. Talk about the perfect bitching scenario, a good one at that, one which leaves our roadies with doubts and anxieties in their heads.

Moving on to their first task, for money too and it's at the Nature farms of Hissar. A fairly simple task this, or so it seems. 5 coins, each worth Five thousand rupees have been placed in 20 boxes. The roadies are split up into two teams, each getting five minutes to find these coins from the boxes. Sounds fairly simple right! Well it would have been had the boxes not been filled with over ek lakh bees. Yup! You read right, ek lakh. Now doesn't buzz things up a bit?

The second task and this one's for immunity. There's a surprise guest too (a Bollywood director) and he's auditioning the Roadies for the next task. Split into teams of two each team gets half an hour to prepare for and enact the scenes given to them. The winning team (The team gives the best performance) gets immunity raising the stakes that extra bit. There's a daku, a Nagin and her charmer, a devoted son and his mother and some goondas too. Good filmi stuff.

And finally the vote out! So who gets immunity? How much money do they make in their 'buzzy bee' task? Let's not forget Rahul and Priyanka, where's that relationship going? Will their romance blossom? There's an accident too and politics in full effect all leading up to a shocking, surprising, unexpected and tension filled vote out? EPISODE 5:



I've made a mistake! I honestly held the notion that the politics in the earlier episode was a lot, clearly I was wrong. You have to see this one to really know the true meaning of politics. Priyanka was voted out and it was a well thought out well contrived scheme, masterminded by none other than Amitinder. Now Rahul wants revenge. Their journey- Hissar to New Delhi.

Under Shubendru the new captain, our roadies make move towards Delhi. They arrive at Delhi and are welcome with an assortment of gifts ranging from Haier mobiles, Titan watches and sunglasses to free bike checkups by Castrol. Now that's some welcome into the capital.

The fast task is for money- under Salsa instructors KT and Kannika the Roadies must learn the dance, and then showcase the skills learned at Tuppers a nightclub in Delhi famed for its salsa nights. The club would be visited by 50 of Delhi's finest Salsa dancers, our friends the roadies must dance with each of these dancers, all of whom are also sporting a band. The band is to be given to a roadie of their dance was deemed as satisfactory by the dancers. Each band is worth a 1000 rupees; a total of 50000 up for grabs.

A tired bunch of Roadies make their way back to the hotel after a physically draining hour of salsa. Sadly all is not well anymore with the roadies, remember MR. Politics. Well he shows his ugly face again. The victims this time; Amitinder and someone else. They almost start fighting; imagine if the cameras weren't around.

The immunity task, the big one in a crowded bazaar. Split into two teams- Paratha and Chitli. The roadies are led on a scavenger hunt in Chandini Chowk, New Delhi. A bizarre list was handed out to them with items ranging from watermelon seeds, a dog collar and a rickshaw driver named Munna.

Who wins the scavenger hunt? Which team wins immunity? Who does Amitinder fight with? How are things with him and Rahul? How much money do they win at the salsa dance off? Who gets voted out this time? ROADIES 3: MONDAYS 7:00 PM. It keeps getting better.

EPISODE 6:
Dhabas, Dropping Immunity, the ROADIES continue

Amitinder's gone! That was quite a shock wasn't it? I know because I was surprised too. Somewhere, deep down inside, I actually thought he'd make it. I thought he was going to be the one, the bike, and the cash. He seemed up to the challenge. But that's the Roadies for you. You never know what to expect. In fact it is always best to expect the unexpected. The game is wide open now. One group appears to be a little tight but Shubendru and Meher seem vulnerable with the departure of Amitinder.

New Delhi to Meerut, Parul is their new captain; Roadies 3 continues. The group seems cold now; Meher and Shubendru really appear to miss Amitinder. Rahul and the rest on the other hand are happy as he seemed to be a little to bossy. Stuti doesn't like the fact that Parul is captain. Parul doesn't like Stuti. Whatever happened to the Roadies team?

There's a first on this episode as well. The Roadies encounter their first rains. Raincoats and all they continue past the several small towns scattered on their way. A quick stop at a HERO HONDA Showroom for some of the usual band bhaja, refreshments and the Roadies arrive at Hotel Crystal Palace; their halt at Meerut. After the usual bit of Mauj masti, four of the Roadies get to make one call, decided by chits, but what the hell? The other four go and make phone calls anyway.

A new day and a new task. Split into two teams the Roadies have to manage a Dhaba, which includes cooking the food two. The two Dhabas; SANGAM and CITY HEART. The team that wins the most money wins the task and immunity as well.

So which team wins the task? Who gets immunity? There's a surprise twist at the vote out as well. There's a possibility of dropping the immunity of all the Roadies. Will they do so? Who gets voted out? ROADIES 3: MONDAYS at 7:)00 PM, only on MTV.
