Watch out for Rabba Mainu Pyaar Ho Gaya, a musical romantic drama
Lights, camera, action, and it's a cut. The shot's been okayed and we rush to the set to catch up with the actors here for the shooting of Punjabi film, "Rabba Mainu Pyaar Ho Gaya", being shot at Banur. Starring Gavie Chahal, Mannat Singh, Dakksh Ajit Singh, Kanwaljeet Singh and Deep Dhillon, the film's yet another attempt at typical Punjabi drama - "a musical romantic emotional drama," says the film producer Swaran. While half of the movie has been shot in Punjab, the remaining move location to Australia. "It'll hit the screens this summer," adds Swaran as we catch up with Gavie. A mechanical engineer by profession, Gavie, who hails from Gurdaspur learned the art of acting from veteran actress Madhumati. "I chose Punjabi cinema because my roots are here and it's this industry that has given me a platform to perform," he says. About the movie, "It is a musical love story which highlights the relationship of father with his sons and daughters." Big screen always beckoned him, but Gavie's not sidelined the small screen. "Well, we can't deny there's a big difference. In television, you work non-stop for hours while in movies there is a scope for relaxation," he smiles. Ten years down the line don't get surprised if you see him directing a movie too! Meanwhile, the leading lady of the film, Mannat, whose worked as a theatre artist for ten years and also in Punjabi movie "Mehandi Wale Hath" is pretty excited about her role. "My character in is that of a naughty and bubbly girl whose life takes a turn due to some circumstances," tells Mannat adding how a movie is all about takes and retakes, while in theatre you are performing live and there's immediate reaction and reward. Vocal as usual, Deep Dhillon dons the uniform of a cop for this film. "The way social issues are being highlighted in Punjabi movies is outstanding," his next, "Munde UK De", is expected to hit the screens in April. Though the Punjabi movies have carved their niche and have reached at an international level yet they lack marketing, he adds he dreams of making a movie on traditional Punjab, one that was before the attack of terrorism. The music of movie is given by hans raj hans and kailash kher has sung one song in punjabi in this movie.
