actually i made a post a couple of days before this one.... but i guess u and bugs were in the middle of chatting and so missed it.......and yes..... my presentation went really well considering the fact that i hardly got the time to prepare for it.... all my time and energy went into preparing the assignment

as for those greek plays... we hve begun the first trilogy... oresteia.......based on the household of atreius or more specifically agmemnon the victorious king in the trojan war..... and helen's bro in law.... its not too bad..i mean the translation is kindof easy when u get hold of it... but all those references to greek gods and myths are mindboggling 'course i'll probably go completely 🤪when the module starts in ernest and presentations and assignments begin........

i think when it comes down to it...there are about 6-7 courses in r m.phil. programme..... but under each there are so many modules as in the numerous authors.... case in point being classical drama which is from greek to shakespeare to jacobian era... phew....I have an exam today.... not on classical but on post-colonialism......an author called doris lessing..... i gave the assignment and presentation on her last week.... cant believe we ahve already finished one author less than a month aftrer m.phil began.......

as for WG... its going great.....yeah we ahd a dhobighaat session😆 and than sami and this bachcha party girl called manalee were giving shuleen recipes about dishes that contain eggs.. i ahvent gone thru the posts but i think aloo anday recipe that sami gave the poor guy hasnt gone well....... shuleen can cook but not punajbi masalas......do come over vasu..... trust me irts great fun ..... shuleen ...manalee....riya..........u'll enjoy yourself...........we discuss each and everything under the sun... the other day...it was kareena... with shuleen mounting her defense and the rest of us especially bugs in the prosecution......... i read posts more than participating actually.... but it was fun.....and sami posts some incredible pix👍🏼 and skep write poems and stories on those and she posted some old songs and the english ones from which they were inspired.......and once skep sami and i got in to a discussion of old pakistani songs and urdu poets......😆 so plenty of stuff is normally going on over there.......do come over and particpate someday😊

ok i gotta go now....... my van will be here soon........ and i think i should really get down to revising for the exam that i'll be taking in about 1 and a 1/2 hrs rather than listening to "coldplay" 😆

well vasu....... i am here... again after giving the exam...... u know what i just made this post in the WG talking all about it and since i'll be telling u pretty much the same stuff..... i guess it makes more sense if i more or less copy paste the thing over here..... u don't mind na?

😆 the question wasnt very ahrd..... however, it was just too vast....i had to discuss these four aspects in relation to the protagonists of the two novel we have done..... i managed with one but because i was running out of time... couldnt handle the second part that well..... and later i realized that my answer wasnt very concrete it was very general..... ma'am had asked us to quote from the critical materials..... i didnt do that and didnt even mention the names of those critics or their books..... u cant get away with that at this level ... and i didnt use any specific terms even though she specially asked us too..... doris lessing the author on whose novels ... two of them .... i gave the paper today is what is known as post-colonial writer...... and there are certain terms that critics use to describe the colonial experience .... terms like othering.... xenophobia.... negrophobia..... abrogation and appropriation...... stuff that will be seen in the works of authors writing about colonization....... our lecturer asked us to b specific... to use these terms and others..... and i didnt not even 1

waise fault mera tha... i wasnt well prepared if i was i would have picked the question which was more specific and less vast........




but..... u know what i m not worried...now... i was after the paper but i m not now...because the overall grade depends on more than just the final exam..... tests... presentation and assignment are included in it and i have done fairly well in those areas......... she gave the assignment and presentation marks today..... an A (16/20) in the presentation ... B+ (15/20) in the assignment and got the highest grade that she was giving in both [:D/] so hopefully i'll pass this course.... coming into the PG program, my friends and i had decided to aim for a pass and if v pass with good marks than that will be a bonus..... thats what v were talking about amongst rselves after the paper.....and everyone.... pretty much the whole class that is were also like... if v flunk this course so what? it is just one module of an entire course on post-colonialism.... there will be other authors and papers to give...and if v pass those than it will balance out the bad grade in this one........ so basically some of my friends are learning now what i and a couple of other girls in r group were telling them for 4 years.... thruout r BA Hons progrmme actually.......... no tension... just chill......... and that is exactly what we are going to do ..........


what do u think of this plan vasu? were u able to just chill when u were in colg? which reminds me what did u study anyway if u dont mind m asking......... i mean u seemed to know a bit about linguistics and literature when most ppl i know dont.......literature isnt high on the priority of many ppl 😒

Arwen!!!!!!! u need to clear u r exam..that should be the final goal..given the enormous content u r mentioning..My mind has become heavy reading all that..u r mentioning greeks ..then Jacobian..then the bard...how can anyone read all that??????how r u managing??how many hrs should u read??I agree that Litt needs a careful planning..that is how students do here..they infact leave out some books and authors😆coz every yr..the examiners will ask abt a particular author pucca...so they concentrate on him...and move on! Litt students can't study all the portion ..I know that...but reading u r s....I am also told here that MA syllabus changed a lotttttttttt....some 15 or 18 yrs back it wasn't so😆if it was abt Henchard..Mayor of castorbridge..they would learn only three or 4 topics from there..or Tess...some 5 questions..that's all..they would pass the exam..😆so Arwen!!! here people prepare roughly 5 topics...on every novel..whatever the question is🤣..they will manage from those and write..Arwen!! i do have a touch with the subject but I hate it🤢I have some members in the family who did that/..not really in the way u r saying to me😆now....u seem to be mind blowing ...and I am not the rt authority to tell u anything...MY SUB IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE POLITICAL AFFAIRS😍😆

Arwen!!!! here in India...majority take ELT !!!!! no litt or Linguistics..coz job is their main priority😆very few go to that side...and peopel with no ELT r mostly shunned away..that is reality 🤔as they say Litt ??of what use to us//we need people to teach the lessons...
