Kranti packed and left though BBR tried her best to take promise from her that she will come back within a couple of days, as she was pregnant and she would not be able to handle things at home alone and she couldn't allow Chaiji or Buaji to work. But Kranti did not relent as she knew that she has bigger plans apart from seeing badi bi.

BBR was left making faces and cribbing about the troubles her pregnancy was giving her.

Kranti and Rahim chacha left after bidding good bye to the family.

They sat in the tonga and started moving.

It was a chilly afternoon though the sun was up still the wind was piercing through Kranti's bones. She suddenly remembered that night when Raj pulled her inside while she had gone out to get clothes. That warmth'''..

RC: Kranti puttar you must have understood that we have some important job at hand and that's why I had to pull you ot of your house like this. I am sorry I lied about Badi bi being unwell. She wants to meet you though.

Kranti''..are you listening to me.

K:U huh, yes Rahim Chacha sorry my mind just waivered

RC: What happened puttar any problems

K: Nothing and what ever was there I have finished them (looking determinantly at the road)

They reached Rattowal by the evening and the dusk had already set in still the fields which were a mix of yellow and green the mustard fruits were starting to ripen now.

Thre tonga stopped in front of the same house whose sight gave Kranti a feeling of home always. She had started getting that feel in Raj's house as well.

Why am I thinking about that family now I have a bigger responsibility to fulfill?

"Pinku you will you have become fatter hah why have you got her Rahim chacha she will barely be able to run"

Kranti turned around after hearing these words from shubhankar.

K: wait you damru I will kill you right away. (she ran after shubhankar)

S: badi bi here comes your wild cat she is after my life again.

K: wait you rat I will kill you now. And badi bi you are not getting into this at all.

Bbi: Stop it you two. And shubhu you will get a danda if you trouble my daughter.

Kranti Hugged Badi bi.

After dinner they all sat to discuss the big job they were planning to kill the governer of Punjab who was going to visit Amritsar on the 15^th of that month.

Amritsar rang a bell always as that was Kranti's ancestral town where she stayed with her parents before they were killed in the Jallianwallah massacre.

Back at the Lal household. Raj came late as usual. He had decided that he had had enough and had to talk to Kranti about what ever is been going on for past 15 days.

He walked into his room and ofcourse his coming into the house could not escae the prying eyes of BBR.

She walked in behind him.

Raj was standing surprised not findig Kranti there.

She must have gone to chaiji or for some other work. He turned around thinking an almost ran into BBR.

R: Parjai ji you here at this hour everything ok.

BBR: No devar ji you wife has left without even taking your permission.

R: What where has she gone and with whom.

BBR: Some shyam chacha had come to meet her, he looked like a crook to me he said that his name was shyam and he was wearing a tabeez like muslims, now tell me what kind of people hide their idenity like that.

R: Parjai ji you have very small thinking even hindus wear tabeez so.

BBR: Devar ji to me he looked like a crook and the way he took Kranti away on such a short notice I thought let me warn you.

She walked away without realizing that she had fanned Raj's worst fear about Kranti.

She could have waited for me what was the hurry to leave and who is this shyam chacha she left with, I never heard of him even in Rattowal. And why didn't chaiji and bauji bothered to inform me.

In the morning at the breakfast table..

R: Chaiji where did Kranti go?

C: Are puttar her badi bi was not well and she wanted to meet Kranti

R: But she could have waited for me I could have taken her with me to rattowal.

C: You have been coming so late for past so many days so thinking you must be busy we didn't inform you.

R: But'who is this chacha she went with.

Kullu: Listen you must be a lawyer but then we are your parents and if we have sent our daughter in law then we must have thought of something right.

R: Bauji I am just worried.

C: Puttar he is her chacha and since he was going to Atari she left with him.

R: Ok (Still looking unconvinced)

What is this happening I need to find out ASAP.

Raj decided to go to Rattowal immediately.

The dusty roads reminded him of the great time he had there realized that there is more to Kranti then her beauty and that she can be a kid, a grown up woman, a dutiful wife, a caring daughter and a fun loving young lass at the same time.

The dusty roads threw too many memories back at him some beautiful few a little disturbing but in all pleasant ones.

He reached Bdbi bi's house and found it locked he got worried further.

Where has Kranti gone?Who is this Shyam chacha? Whats up with badi bi?

Damn why did I not care about her and things around her for so many days? And now she is gone where, to do what I don't know a bit.

He asked the people around though no one had a clear clue or may be they were hiding things from him however one child whom he befriended on his last trip spilled the beans that Badi bi and Shubhankar have left for Amritsar and Kranti too was with them.

Damn that Shubhankar again way cant he leave Kranti alone. Of he has to do something against the Britishers then he can go and kill himself why is he pulling my Kranti into this I will not spare him if something happens to her.

He banged his fist on the car and the loud thud woke him up to think rationally.

He started for Amritsar.
