Part XI

No there cannot be another woman in his life he is been after me for such a long time trying to tell me how much he cares for me, that night when passion almost blew us away. That anger he had when he saw me with Shubhankar what was all that. He was indeed uneasy about my being friends with Shubhankar. But then he is a man and an egoistic one. He thinks that he owns me and may be that's why he reacted like that. But that pull which we felt towards each other'..

The thoughts were troubling her a lot.

For a moment Kranti felt ashamed for using the thoughts of her friend to evaluate her husbands love towards her. Such are the ways of life.

The days were running like the superfast train which has just started plying between Delhi and Lahore. And there was no respite yet for Kranti's dilemma. It is been over a fortnight since Raj has started coming home late, he is been behacing strange he skipped the dinner at home almost everyday. Giving excuses of work or friends when chaiji or anyone else asked. In these fifteen days he didn't speak with Kranti even once apart from work that too when it was too necessary.

Kranti was worried had thought of giving him leverage but what about those hair on his shirt which she was finding almost everyday, and what about that lipstick mark, Which she saw yesterday, yet she decided not to talk or react about it.

Again that ego which forced her to think that she does not care for him and neither does she love him. It was a huge fight going on in Kranti's mind. Yet she did not let any signs of it show. She is a KK and she has some work to do and hoe can she bother about a servent of Englishmen.

Shubhankar had send a message to her that the big day was close and she had to sit with him to discuss the plans. She couldn't have done it while being at Lahore. She already had her share of trouble wth Raj over this matter and she did not want the family to know about it and get worried or offended. Also her big worry was BBR who is been behaving like Mata Hari off late if only she was as attractive or used her talents for better things.

Anyway Kranti was not paying any attention to BBR as usual and BBR was happy in her own thoughts of Kranti's separation with Raj.

She has to go somewhere away from everyone and she also needed a break from the disturbing thoughts and antics of Raj.

That buffoon what does he think of himself as if I will worry about him he can go and have a affair with as many women he wants.

She thought however her own thoughts started giving her grief now.

Kranti was cooking dinner for the evening, jagat kaka came and announced that someone had come to see her.

Kranti was stome shocked to see Rahim chacha siting with bauji and chaiji discussing some moves of chess.

Rashim chacha was leading the KKs after Sohan tauji was hanged he was a lawyer by profession and was very shrewd Englishmen were aware of his activities but could not do anything against him as he was too smart to leave any traces for them to follow.

Rahim chacha here in this house?

She didn't even know how to address him she was not aware as to what pretence he had taken to enter this house

There has to be something very important for Rahim chahcha to come here.

Befor Kranti could say anything Bauji solved her problem.

Kullu: Kranti Puttar Good you came here your Shyam Chacha is a very interesting man, I have invited him over for a match of Chess one day, isn't it Shyam ji.

RC: Sure Lala ji we will sit for sure one day. Even I want to feel the kick of defeating a champion someday.

Kullu: Lets see who defeats whom Shayam ji. (twisting his Mustache all the time)

Bauji will never leave his pompous ways but he is such a darling I am sure my dad was also like this. But whay Rahim chacha has come to this house under a pretence.

K: (Hugs Rahim Chacha) How are you chachaji?

RC: I am fine puttat you tell me whats happening.

K: Nothing how come here?

Kullu: Are Puttar you will keep asking questions to him or feed him something as well.

RC: No lala ji I have come here for some work and would like to go after finishing that.

K: What happened chahcaji.

RC: Kranti puttar Badi Bi is not well and she wants to meet you.

K: What?

C: Oh god what happened to her praji.

RC: Age and lonliness parjai ji I am sure if Kranti goes and spends some time with her she will be fine. I think you should leave immediately I am going to Atari will drop you at Rattwal. You can them spend sometime with Badi bi there.

K: Chaiji, Bauji'.

Kullu: Sure puttar you go and don't worry about us BBR is there to take care of things and if you have any problem just send a message to us we will comedown you take care of badi bi.

C: Puttar wait for Raj atleast lest he will worry.

Why should I wait for him as if he is bothered about me he is busy with his english girlfriend these days chaiji.

K:you are right chaiji but then he is keeping too busy these days and what if he does not have time to take me there then I will have to travel alone I think I will go with chacha ji.

She anyways wanted to avoid meeting Raj what if he decides to tag along though chances were grim but who knows. He also had this habit of snooping around he might ask some thousand questions it is better to avoid them.
