Forgive the despair that sits on my face
Forgive the despair as I stand in prayer,
feeling no longer involved in the human race.
These emotions I feel are genuine and real,
and the tears I shed are multiplied and bred.
When the black wall descends and the tunnel seems long,
I close my eyes and I whisper a song.
Words can heal and hugs can soothe,
but it's only time that will prove
how the light is there, is really there, shining.
Many a path you may have to tread,
with very few turnings up ahead,
but you will get there in the end.
It doesn't matter how you arrive,
just carry one thought,
I will survive
