If gunji was missing then nups and mayu wud have each other but nups wud hv blamed sam while mayu wud hv reasoned it wasnt his fault. Gunjan then wud hv been seen by sammy and nups wud hv reacted the way gunji did. Then gunji wud hv bn found in clutches of a vicious family. She lost her memory and her family wud have brought her bk and sajan story wud hv restarted (a la maan geet story where maan never got bk his memory)

If mayu was missing, sajan wud hv been together and nups wud hv blamed sam. But gunji wud hv bn at cross roads- on one side accused fiance and on the other a grieving sister. Suddenly all three see mayu at different times and it is found mayu was at coma and he was trying to recollect his partly regressed memory. A new mayur story...

If sam was missing then mayur wud hv supported gunji. Gunji wud partly blame them for encouraging sam to speed. She wud blame herself for not preventing the accident. So she kps herself away frm all. One fine day she seea sammy wheelchair bound and almost paralyased. By mistake he was sent elsewhere and he had no means of contacting his chashmish or anyone. She and mayur rescuse him and rehabillitate him...

My thoughts about the Season 2 being affected by absence of the trio are same as yours.

But bringing back Monayarjun is a bit hatke.

Sanaya - Bring her as an anti-thesis of Gunjan, a doppelganger. Exactly like Paro - Myrah. Or bring back Gunjan, who was scarred and all n didn't want to face the other three. Same like paralysis track.

Mohit - Bring him back with an altered personality, where he is more like Bhavesh n is in depression. Recuperating from trauma. Why? Coz he was driving.

Arjun - Bring him back as a doppelganger who is pretending to be someone else to protect the other three. Very filmy.

There would have been mixed reactions, I think.

Dad n dadi - initially they would get angry after knowing his motive behind the marriage but then they will accept Suhani ultimately.

Bauji n Bui - Will blame or chide over him a lot for playing with Nupur's life as well Suhani's. Then eventually time will heal their wounds n they would happily let MayUr stay together. Maybe the early marriage won't have happened.
