Why KJ is an SG song all along?
First of all, this is the song which plays when we are shown about the notions Samrat has about his dream girl and then our sweet, shy Gunjan is introduced to us. Secondly, this also plays in the background during their first bike ride scene. This song is also the witness to their coming together as friends as they unknowingly fell in love that V-day night. Lastly, this is the song which tells us about Samrat's feelings when he realized that he has fallen in love with none other than his Chashmish.
In addition to these, the lyrics of this haunting melody also seem to be so apt for the couple and their journey from friends to lovers to soulmates. It feels as if it were tailor-made for them.
Below is an analogy drawn on their situation.
Sajde mein yunhi jhukta hoon
Tumpe hi aake rukta hoon
Kya yeh sabko hota hai
Samrat always had this superficial notion about love. He had never believed in love which was followed by others. He got to know the meaning of true love from Gunjan only. He was like... OMG! Was it true? But once he was sure about it, there was no looking back. He already worshipped her and his world would stop at her. It just got magnified after his much needed realization.
Humko kya lena hai sabse
Tumse hi sab baatein abse
Ban gaye ho tum meri dua...
Gunjan had always been sure about her love for Samrat. Once they confessed, she hardly cared about what others would say about it. She even didn't hesitate to go against her own sister when her love was being falsely accused. Her world would start with Samrat and end with Samrat only. He was truly a blessing in disguise to her.
Khuda jaane ke main fida hoon
Khuda jaane main mit gaya
Khuda jaane yeh kyun hua hai
Ke ban gaye ho tum mere khuda
Samrat was totally smitten over her. He was totally lost in her love. Even if he didn't know why, when and how it happened but one thing he did know for sure that she was an angel. His angel.
Tu kahe toh tere hi kadam ke main nishaano pe
Chalun rukun ishaare pe
Tu kahe toh khwaab ko banake main bahana sa
Mila karu sirhane pe
Gunjan used to look up to him for support while facing the world. His unconditional support and constant attempts to bring a smile on her face would brighten up her world. His every sign or gesture would make her go weak on the knees. But she was never afraid to declare her love for him. If you think about the kiss she gave him on the insistence of the gang or in private was only because either she felt like doing it or was involuntarily drawn towards him. And that's too due to his sugary sweet and loving gestures. And he had got his dream girl who would also meet making an excuse of sweet dreams.
Ho... Tumse dil kii baatein seekhi
Tumse hi yeh raahen seekhi
Tumpe marke main toh jee gaya
Falling in love with Gunjan gave a new meaning, a goal to Samrat's life. He learnt how does it feel being in love with someone, being the centre of someone's world, being the subject of someone's undying love. After loving her did he feel like living his life. He who had always been deprived of love, had now got the way to his happiness i.e. Chashmish.
Dil kahe ke aaj toh chupalo tum panahon me in
Ke darr hai tumko kho dunga
Dil kahe sambhal zara khushi ko naa nazar laga
Ke darr hai main toh ro dunga
Samrat always had insecurities due to lack of a proper family background. He always thought that whoever he loved the most would leave him which made him a bit superstitious. He didn't want to lose his Chashmish at any cost. He wished to make her his own as soon as possible when he felt her slipping away from his hands i.e. during the critical condition of Gunjan after the gunshot or during the Neil track. He would always dread her going away from him. It was his biggest fear.
Ho... Karti hoon sau vaadein tumse
Bandhe dil ke dhaage tumse
Yeh tumhe naa jaane kya hua...
Gunjan would become his pillar of support whenever he would feel lonely. She would have made a hundred promises to him that whatever may come she wont leave him. As a friend, as a lover and then as his soulmate. She would assure him time and again that she was his and he was hers. There's no one who can separate us. Their unquestioned trust in each other was the pillar of strength of their love, which had not even ceased in those dreadful 3 years as well and later brought them back together. She was always surprised to see his insecurities resurfacing during the Neil track. Their repeating of the vows taken earlier along with the act of consummation was a reassurance from Gunjan to Samrat that their love was strong enough to fight any force or obstacle. And she had succeeded in it.
Such was the depth of their love with the song so beautifully blended with it. And their's is such a story which is found only once in ages...
