Mayank held Nupur's chin & looking in her eyes said, " i have been waiting for an
eternity for this moment. Finally my dream has come true." Nupur looked back &
saw his eyes reflected all the love he had for her. she felt overwhelmed.
Softly Mayank cupped Nupur's face in his palms ,looking at her. with her heart
beats racing ,she stood there mesmerised. Mayank bent his head & softly kissed
Nupur on her forehead, she closed her eyes , then he kissed each one of her eyes .
A moment passed ,then two, Nupur could feel Mayank's breath on her face, but she
did not dare open her eyes. she waited with anticipation.
Mayank looked at her beautiful face, her closed eyes & her slightly parted
trembling lips, then sighing in resignation , he kissed her softly on her cheeks ,
which made Nupur shiver slightly. he pulled her back in his arms & touched his
forehead to hers & sighed again.
" though its really tempting to stay up here with you ,we should go down to Maa,
she must have worn a path around the living room by now." said Mayank with
slight laughter in his voice.
Nupur held on to him a bit longer , then shyly let him go. Mayank held her hand &
started towards the door ,as they began the descend down the stairs Nupur tried to
pull away her hand from Mayank's , but he did not allow her to do so.
" nuh uhhh sweetheart ,this time around you will have to do what i say." saying so
he kissed her fingers & winked at her mischievously. Nupur's heart lurched in her
chest. She was confused , happy ,excited all at the same time.
They entered the living room , Nupur saw Shilpa aunty walking around the room
,Mona sat on a sofa, both were a little tense.
Hearing the foot steps Shilpa turned around & immediately felt relief washing over
her ,as she saw Mayank & Nupur. Mayank had his hand at the small of Nupur's
back .
Shilpa with her mother's super vision took in the change of body language in both
Mayank & Nupur,they were comfortable with each other ,she felt joy flooding her
heart. She looked carefully at Mayank's eyes and was happy to see the shadows
dispelled from them completely. She beamed her 1000 watt smile at Mayank -
Nupur, then raised her brows & looked quizzically at Mayank. He gave her an
imperceptible nod, confirming what Shilpa already knew.
" oh thank God !!! both of you are safe. " saying so Shilpa rushed towards Mayank
-Nupur & hugged them. " Mona & i were going out of our mind with worry."
Mona too hugged Nupur.
" are you mad Nupur?? you took off to the jungle alone without even telling us. we
were so worried & searched around the temple for you ,then one shopkeeper told
us he had seen you going towards the woods & i almost had cardiac arrest right
then &there.what were you thinking??" demanded Mona ,shaking Nupur a little.
"thank God !!Bhai intercepted you & sent us a msg about your where abouts."
" Mona !!! wait a minute ,lets sit down & let Mayank & Nupur tell us what exactly
happened." said Shilpa. She led Nupur towards the sofa , they all settled down.
Nupur took a deep breath & told every one the circumstances in which she rushed
off to warn Mayank, her terror after entering the woods & the way Mayank
appeared to take her away with him.
Nupur frowned thoughtfully as something struck her suddenly, she turned
towards Mayank & asked him " how did you know , i was in the woods Mayank??
how did you know just where to find me??"
Mayank said " now i can tell every thing as the mission is accomplished. Murli was
working with us right from the start, he is Bela's husband . he managed to send a
message to me about how lakhan was threatening him. the forest officer & I
planned to take advantage of the situation , the route Murli took was decided by us.
he even managed to convey us the time they were entering the woods. after
putting every thing in place ,i asked one of my men to keep an eye on Oakwood &
follow you all , if you ventured out. So when you all went to temple he followed
you there, he saw Bela talking to you Nupur & then saw you entering the woods
too. he called me up to inform me exactly the spot you had entered the woods
along with the time you entered. thats how i knew where to wait for you."
"thanks to Devi maa's grace , all of you are unharmed & back to your families."
said Shilpa " come on now lets have something to eat, we could not manage to eat
anything earlier."
So they settled down on the dining table , Shilpa & Mona noticed the way Mayank
& Nupur kept looking at each other . Mayank's mischievous eyes & Nupur's
blushing told them the whole story. They both were very happy for Mayank-
Nupur & smiled at each other conspiratorially.
