Part-13

Nupur was out in the front garden of Oakwood estate , she was sitting on a garden chair with a book . she was totally immersed in the story unfolding in pages of the book & for the moment forgot all her troubles.

suddenly someone covered her eyes. Nupur's hands went up to hold the wrists of the person covering her eyes , she sniffed for a few minutes. then said,
" i can smell that elizabeth arden perfume & so its got to be Mona & nobody else."

Huffing loudly Mona let go of Nupur & proceeded to flop on the chair facing Nupur & said
"could'nt you pretend to be surprised for a tinsy-winsy bit??"
Nupur laughed & said " may i remind you Miss. Mona that we have been out of school for a good 7-8 years . we are responsible professionals now, so when are you going to grow up??"

" don't i act all grown up when situation demands it?? i am on vacation now so i am entitled to act childish & silly ." said Mona laughing.

" ok lets go in , i want to see maasi." Mona pulled Nupur up & they walked in the house.
" Maasi!!!! i am home !!!!," shouted Mona , "where are you???"
Shilpa aunty came out of a room smiling. Mona ran towards her & hugging her swung her around. both of them laughed & Nupur smiled fondly at them.

Mona talked nineteen to the dozen. Nupur & Shilpa could not get in a word ,so they gave up & just listened to her. Raghu kaka served them snacks & tea.
then both the girls carried Mona's bags up to Nupur's room , they intended to share room so they could talk late in the night.

" Ok Nupur!!! now tell me whats the matter?? what did you want to tell me??"asked Mona. " whats troubling you??"
Nupur sighed deeply & said " i don't know where to start , i don't know whether you will believe me or take me to a mental hospital ,after hearing this." since Nupur was serious while saying this Mona stiffled the laugh that bubbled up in her throat, looking at Nupur,Mona got worried.

" Nupur tell me fast ,whats the problem??"
" remember Mona , i once told you about the dreams i have been having since childhood?? i have discovered just a couple of days ago that they were not some random dreams but memories from my past life. i have experienced it all in previous birth." said Nupur quietly. Mona was shocked to hear it.

" i have been seeing flashes of this house in my dreams too, Mona,from the moment i stepped in here i have this sense of deja vu. " saying so Nupur got up & went to the window & stood there looking out.

" and here is the coup de grace i have seen this house because i have a connection to it."
continued Nupur in a somber tone," and the connection is with Mayank, your cousin."
now Mona was totally flabbergasted & she was too stunned to say a single word.

Nupur turned to look towards Mona , gave a wan smile looking at her expressions ,
" i know exactly how you feel. i have felt the same."

Mona gathered her thoughts & then asked , " you had a connection with Bhai?? what is it??"
" we were engaged in our previous birth." Nupur sighed ." but that relation did not last, i broke up with him over some misunderstanding & by the time i realised my mistake ,it was too late, Aman , that was his name in previous birth,had completely disappeared from my life.

Nupur continued " i searched for him a long time in the previous birth , but never found him. when i came here & met Mayank ,i felt instant attraction to him. he really is an adorable & conscious man. he took care of me when i twisted my ankle. bit by bit i came to know more about him & i started falling for him, i thought he shared the same feeling, but for past some days he has been avoiding me.
i am at my wits end thinking what went wrong suddenly ?? but i have not come up with any answer. i needed to share all this with you. i love Mayank very much Mona.i don't want to lose him a second time."

Mona just hugged Nupur & patted her back. Nupur felt very calm after getting it all off her chest. Mona asked Nupur ,
" what do you want me to do?? should i talk to Bhai ??"
"no Mona. i just needed to share it with you . its such a relief saying it out loud to you that i am in love, i love Mayank. i will talk to him, but what if does not reciprocate ??
i just dread the idea Mona."

" think positive buddy!!" Mona exclaimed ." as far as i know my Bhai is neither blind nor stupid" Mona winked at Nupur," how can he not accept you?? so go get him girl. i am rooting for you."saying so Mona thumped Nupur's back.

then they laughed together.
